Thanks aqua, I have been reading again your procedure to give a try with GFX strings. I thing it is 512Mb, but in the description they talk about 640Mb . I will check with the description on the box and the "booklet"

I can read 320Mb bit memory interface on the back side of the box. But in the front a sticker with 640 MB DDR3 covers the original 320MB DDR3. On the side of the box the specs mention 512 MB System Memory. Is it now 512 or 640 MB and what represent the 640MB ? I will put the card in my son's PC to see the specs.

A little update : I cannot use my 8800GTS in the first PCIE slot because of the waterblock of the bridge beside, not yet watercooled because I cannot use the block from the 7900GTO. So I put the card in the second slot and the Hack start and got the Apple on the screen. Great!
Next steps : 1) Aqua GFX strings 2) David Eliott's BOOT-132 3) Ritalin's OSX86 patcher 4) STLVNUB's INSTAHackintos I want to try these installers.

Little update, I will use the original G5 door instead of a acrylic panel, according to HacOSXuser suggestion from Insanelymac. QUOTE(HacOSXuser @ Jun 6 2008, 09:10 PM) the only thing i dont like is how the G4 door(obv) doesnt cover the entire opening. leaving the top shelf and the corners visible. take the original G5 door. cut a hole in it the size of the G4 door. put them toogether. and make it motorize out. that. would be an amazing mod. End of QUOTE my answer : I heard you HacOSXuser, I am cutting a hole inside the G5 door of the size of the Apple logo and will insert a piece of acrylic panel, maybe coming a little bit on the outside as the G4 door was not flat but a little convexe; and the original door will be attached to the mobo plate, they will then move together. End of my answer. Some pix of the ongoing job are following. You can in the meantime see them here from post 74Here we go : From where we ended : acrylic panel with cardboard sprayed with chrome color paint to visualize the mesh panel cover with the logo shape opening : we are going to here : just sprayed a chrome watercolored paint onto the acrylic panel, the pieces of tapes have been used to attach the panel on different positions to center the logo shape view from the inside, showing the attached opening system frame : and to here : 3 days to draw the apple logo onto the original G5 door, first centered with the apple on the door and then with the 3 D lighted apple inside : because this one is in the middle of the mobo tray (old pix,the top blade of the apple logo is now in 3D too with light inside): Cutting has started, already used three blades, have to buy some more on monday...

After four days of sweating and pain , I got the hole done. I thing I will araldite the apple cut onto the side panel to have a convex logo , painted in black or shinny alu grey. Door cut with cut parts in position: Only the cut parts : Door without cut parts : Cut door in position on the case : Next step, transparant acrylic cut panel to cover the opening. I thing I will paint in black the bottom part of the mobo tray to make the inside of the case darker compared to the acry panel outside.

One step futher. The Apple logo hole cutting is finished . Have tried just for fun to swap the original door from a Dual G5 2 Gig with mine, that's surprising but not bad. Have in the meantime started shopping for the copper tubes and connectors I will use to replace the usual plastic tubes for the LCS inside the MacPro case. Will load some pix with the 3D lighted logo on later when I wake up.

Here are the tools to be used to bend and cut the copper tubes which will be used to transport the cooling liquid from the G5 case to the Mac Pro case : Here is the G5 door with the final version of the opening Apple logo without the plexi panel and the 3D Apple lighted logo (seven leds inside in total): Here with the remaining piece of plexi panel used in previous tests. You can see the difference because of the reflection on the panel : Just for the fun and by curiosity I attached the G5 opened door onto a G5 case, check the result!!

The question is how to connect the tubes onto the different computer parts ? With a piece of plastic covered by the copper tubes ? The difficulty is to secure the two parts together, there is still a leak. Or all copper parts use as connectors ? Because they must be tiny to stay nice and esthetic. I have to visit a founded pro shop where they are selling very small copper parts for airco systems.I hope to get what I am looking for.

For those who might be interessed, here are the tolls I used to cut the apple logo into the door : 1) copy of the dremel label : 2) the real drumel was cutting like butter : 3) to get the edges smooth I used this :

BB,
This is looking very interesting. I love your use of copper tubing, it gives your whole mod a really industrial look like it's refrigerated! Can't wait to see this finished.
