Hi Harrysu,
Hmm, Do you have a DSDT.aml file on your HDD? If you do, delete it, reboot and make a new one. Are you using an "Extra" folder with chameleon 2, if you are you need to also place the apple.com.boot.plist file in that then sudo repair permissions.

Hi Aquamac. I found 4 DSDT.aml files in Applications\ATools\DSDTPatherGUI_1.0 and deleted it. Restart. Nothing In "Extra" only Extensions. I make apple.com.boot.plist file but this not held me.

Hello people! First, thanks for all! Second, here go my specs: Motherboard: Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe Processor: AMD Phenom i810 x4 Memory: OCZ Raptior (2gb) HD: Samsung SATAII 160gb Video: 9800GTX+ Point of View Monitor: T910 (CRT 19") Keyboard/Mouse: Microsoft USB Well, install method using 10.5.6 iPC. Select Vodoo Kernel, Nforce LAN, AppleNforce, all ok. In the video, i select "Latest Macbook Drivers". If i select another, like 9800GTX, the system starts, but i can't move the mouse. Well, selecting Macbook Drivers, i can move the mouse, with no problems. Start Safari, and when i scroll down the page, the image still the same. I have to minimize the window, maximize again and the image on the Safari windows appear. In the system proprierties, no QE/CI Enabled, only 1024x768 resolution. If i go to EFI String on OSX86UTILS, select 9800GTX, apply to boot plist, reboot, same thing. Mouse slow or kernel panic. Whell, i downloades the 9f23installer, make the steps, removing the injectors, importing the GFX string and reboot my machine. Ok. Resolution ok, but can't open Itunes and Finder in Cover Flow. Go to OSX86UTILS, enable the Quartz GL. Reboot, kernel panic. So, if i use the Macbook drivers (instaled in iPC 10.5.6) i can use it, without QE/CE, in 1024x768, and whit Safari/PDF Documents with static image. If i use the 9f23installer, i can change resolution, the video recognize memory and model, but without QE/CI. Any idea? Thanks for all and sorry my english. Hugs from a Brazilian friend! EDITED: solved!!!! See my other post here: aquamac.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hack1&action=display&thread=509&page=20

Hi Aqua,
I am not able to get QE working on my 9800GT card. Can you help?
I am using 10.5.7 Vanila Kernel, using OSX86Tool to generate the GFX string (using 9800GTX). I compared to your 9800GT 512 GFX string file. It look identical. I only have 1 PCIe slot.
Note the device Id show 0x0601.
From system profiler:
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX DDL:
Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX DDL Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0601 Revision ID: 0x00a2 ROM Revision: 3172a Displays: HP w2558hc: Resolution: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-Bit Color Core Image: Software Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported QuartzGL: Supported Display Connector: Status: No Display Connected
Thanks, kaedekai

Hi Kaedekai,
First off, do you have any injectors installed, like nvinject.kext or Natit.kext? If you do delete them as they overwrite GFX strings. You need a full complement of std 10.5.7 Nvidia drivers, not my 10.5.5 ones at the beginning of this post. If you want me to upload the relevant kexts, post back here. You will need to make sure the kext permissions are set correctly too.
The good news is, your strings look correct.

Hi Aqua,
Thanks for the prompt response.
I don't have an NVInjector installed. I believe I am just using the std kext from 10.5.7.
But just in case, if you could upload the std 10.5.7 kext, that would be great. I will try that to make sure that I did not accidentally screw things up.
It is so hard to get QE running. =( ...
I have also tried the 8800 GT 512 GFX string, but only get QI, and still no QE.
I read somewhere that someone was able to get QE/QI after using 9f23Installer + std 10.5.7 kext. Know what that installer does?
I will check back later & try your std 10.5.7 kext. Hope this time, it will work.
Thanks, Kaedekai

Tonight I have tired the 9f23 installer. But no luck.
I have tested the following alternatives: NVInstaller v52 NVInject 0.2.1 9f23Installer Nvidia 9 Series V2
All reported QE NOT Supported =(
I have also tried to use 8800 GT, but still no QE. See below: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT DDL:
Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT DDL Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0601 Revision ID: 0x00a2 ROM Revision: 3172a Displays: HP w2558hc: Resolution: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-Bit Color Core Image: Software Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported QuartzGL: Supported Display Connector: Status: No Display Connected
Any suggestion?

aquamac: I have a MSI GT627 with a T9800, 4GB RAm Geforce 9800m GS 1024MB. I wrote a tutorial on how to install ideneb 10.5.7 but the only thing I have left to tackle is the Video driver. The tutorial is here: www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f181/79337.htm I previously installed NVinject 0.2.1 (1024MB VRAM) and installed the kext via osx86 tools. I could boot into osx via cpus=1 and sound works via voodooHDA. I then followed your tutorial for the GFX but you did not have the option for 9800m GS 1024 MB so I choose your 9800m GS 512MB version. I removed NVinject after doing this. I can now load into osx with a higher resolution apple booting screen and same resolution 1680x1050 as I had with the nvinject 1024. I then installed the NVIDIA 9 series driver package but I still can not view my external monitor via VGA? and when my screen saver goes on it is very glitchy. I cant see the itunes vizualizer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind I couldn't see the vizualier, scrensaver was glitchy and couldn't see my VGA external monitor with NVinject 0.2.1 (1024MB VRAM) either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so very much! Here is my GFX code as per your instructions just in case: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string>ce0300000100000001000000c20300001500000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000010101060000007fff04001400000040003200 2c006e0061006d00650000001100000073656e736f722d706172656e74220000005600520041004d002c0074006f00740061006c00730069007a00650 00000080000000000002036000000400032002c00680077006300740072006c002d0070006100720061006d0073002d00760065007200730069006f00 6e00000008000000000000021c0000006400650076006900630065005f0074007900700065000000100000004e5644412c4765466f7263650e0000006 e0061006d00650000000f0000004e5644412c506172656e7422000000400030002c006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b00 0000646973706c6179100000006d006f00640065006c0000001b0000004e5649444941204765466f72636520393830306d20475322000000400031002 c006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b000000646973706c617912000000400032002c007200650067000000080000000000 000222000000400032002c006400650076006900630065005f0074007900700065000000120000004e5644412c6770752d64696f64652000000040003 2002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c0065000000160000004e5644412c73656e736f722d706172656e7422000000400032002c00230073 0069007a0065002d00630065006c006c0073000000080000000000000020000000400031002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c006500000 00e0000004e5644412c4e564d616314000000400030002c006e0061006d0065000000120000004e5644412c446973706c61792d413a00000040003200 2c0068007700730065006e0073006f0072002d0070006100720061006d0073002d00760065007200730069006f006e000000080000000000000226000 000400032002c0023006100640072006500730073002d00630065006c006c0073000000080000000000000114000000400031002c006e0061006d0065 000000120000004e5644412c446973706c61792d4220000000400030002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c00650000000e0000004e56444 12c4e564d61631e00000072006f006d002d007200650076006900730069006f006e000000090000003331373261100000004e00560043004100500000 001800000004000000000001000200000000000007000000000e0000004e00560050004d0000002000000001000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1680x1050x32</string> <string></string> </dict> </plist>

Hi anand00x, I have put up an input list for your card at the beginning of this thread and here. As it is a laptop it is likely to have a specific NVCAP. You can try this one but I do not know what outputs your laptop has. Download NVCAP maker if you can find the rom for your card online. Otherwise try the one I put up, I set the NVCAP to internal display + 1 VGA output and 1024 mb. In System Profiler do you have QE and Core Image supported under Graphics/Displays currently?
