Looks like the string is now fine, the second monitor would work if Quartz Extreme was working. You will only get 2nd monitor with Quartz Extreme & Core Image working. Not sure why this is a problem, but if you are running my V2 drivers, they are only for 10.5.5. If you are on 10.5.7 DOWNLOAD these Std drivers and reinstall with Kexthelper that is provided in the download. There are also 10.5.6 drivers in the download but only use the ones that match your operating system.

No change. Still show QE not supported. Any idea?
Just in case I did it wrong, I ran DSDT Patcher, click apply to HD Mac. Then restart.
Is that the right procedure? or I have to compy the dsdt.aml in the session directory to somewhere?
Thanks, Kaedekai

Update: QE/CI now working
Hey Aquamac I finally got QE CI working but do not have all 1024MB only 512 any thoughts? I can choose up to 768 on the v.52 installer will try that today.
followed these 2 steps from olivergringgold: 0) DELETE ALL NVIDIA/GEFORCE KEXTS, AND REMOVE EFI STRINGS. 1) Install your 9000 series drivers, then use your repair permissions script. Clear the extensions cache with OSX86 tools. Reboot. 2) Use the NVinstaller v.52 installer, select 512mb, DO NOT select go/mobile. Clear extensions cache. Reboot.
Then I did this: 3) install DSDT Patcher GUI from the file you provided 4) install all the kext from folder 10.5.7 from the download you provided me earlier.

Hi aqua,
I finally got QE/QI Enabled on my 9800GT.
I did a clean install & uses the Enabler for multiple ATI & Nvidia Kext fro Netkas site. The kext name is ATY_Init.
I am fairly new to mac. What is the difference between using an enabler/injector compared to the GFX string method?
Is it possible to convert the injector to GFX string. I read somewhere that we can get the NVCAP value with the injector running & use it as the NVCAP value of the GFX string using the following command:
ioreg -l -w0 | grep NVCAP
Does that make sense to you?
thanks, Kaedekai

Hello aquamac, I've been searching for a while and tried in several ways to get my 9600 GT 1024MB graphic card working on the 10.5.7, but unfortunately failed. The resolution is fine, and everything seems to be working, but it is not, I've got the Quartz is not supported and Core Image is set to software, which causes as you may know a lot of problems. Please give my a step by step tasks i should go through to get it working. I guess i need to manually modify the EFI string, but i don't know how to do it manually. I used OSX86tools, and nothing happened, also i tried out several different Enablers.. nothing works.
Thanks for your time, M. Bedda

Thanks for your reply. None of the plists stated in that link is for the 9600 GT 1024, can u just send me the appropriate efi string for my graphic card. Here's plist i used:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>PciRoot(0x1)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)</key> <dict> <key>@0,compatible</key> <string>NVDA,NVMac</string> <key>@0,device_type</key> <string>display</string> <key>@0,name</key> <string>NVDA,Display-A</string> <key>@1,compatible</key> <string>NVDA,NVMac</string> <key>@1,device_type</key> <string>display</string> <key>@1,name</key> <string>NVDA,Display-B</string> <key>@2,#adress-cells</key> <string>0x01000000</string> <key>@2,#size-cells</key> <string>0x00000000</string> <key>@2,compatible</key> <string>NVDA,sensor-parent</string> <key>@2,device_type</key> <string>NVDA,gpu-diode</string> <key>@2,hwctrl-params-version</key> <string>0x02000000</string> <key>@2,hwsensor-params-version</key> <string>0x02000000</string> <key>@2,name</key> <string>sensor-parent</string> <key>@2,reg</key> <string>0x02000000</string> <key>NVCAP</key> <data> BAAAAAAAAwAMAAAAAAAABwAAAAA= </data> <key>NVPM</key> <data> AQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA== </data> <key>VRAM,totalsize</key> <data> AAAAQA== </data> <key>device_type</key> <string>NVDA,GeForce</string> <key>model</key> <string>NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT</string> <key>name</key> <string>NVDA,Parent</string> <key>rom-revision</key> <string>3172a</string> </dict> </dict> </plist>

Hello aquamac, maybe you remember me. You helped me with a few things some months ago. I now have assembled all the things I need to complete the install ( I think ). I will try a Retail install following a guide on insanelymac for my Asus pq5. It seems that since the last time I tried, some hard-working people have developed drivers for the ALC1200 and the Atheros Lan AR8121. Great news for me! It seems I may have a chance of getting my hackintosh to work this time. There is one last thing I need to understand, however, before I begin. And I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum: I have a nVidia GeForce 9600 384MB Now, I have read that it's basically a renamed 8800GS and that it should work by installing the 9800GTX drivers. Others have said to use nvinject, and somebody else used a combination of both... Or would your 9 series installer work? Or do I have to use the GFX string method? (I didn't see the 9600 GSO listed in your How-To, though...) I am going to install using ideneb 10.5.5 and Mac os x retail 10.5.4 9E25, and then update via apple (if all goes well...). Thanks,
ck

Hi there, You will see that in post 1, a note that says the installer I made is for 10.5.5 only, so you can use with that but don't use with 10.5.6 although if you upgrade to 10.5.6 after, that is fine - just do not reinstall them again.
What outputs does your card have - is it dual DVI?

do you mean this? Connectors: 2 Dual-Link DVI-I, HDTV + TV Out I'm actually using a HDMI cable to connect to my screen.
So, in this guide that I shall follow, it says to update to 10.5.7, but I just downloaded the 10.5.5 and will update to that instead, install your 9series driver installer, and then update to 10.5.7. Correct?
