Wolviers,
Hey, glad you got it sorted. Starting again is always a good idea. I also find that it is best not to install injectors from the Install DVD as well, but to work things out afterwards.

I can't get my BFG 9800GT 512 Mb. to work with open gl I went ahead and downloaded the files for 512 from this thread, pasted my id, created the hex and added it to the plist. I also made sure that nvkush was not in my extensions folder.
Desktop is working fine with 1600x1050.
my hardware: Asus P5B motherboard BFG 9800 GT Passive cooling 512 Mb. Mac os X version 10.5.6
Please help a newbie MacosX user :-)

Here are the 10.5.6 & 10.5.7 Nvidia kexts + kexthelper b7 to install them. ONLY install the kexts from the 10.5.6 folder as that is what you have. Also check for Natit and NVDarwin in your Extensions folder. Download Nvidia 10.5.6 & 10.5.7 kexts + Kexthelper B7After Installation, Run DSDT Patcher and set to emulate OSX and check the Hpet option. Please report back.

Also check for Natit and NVDarwin in your Extensions folder? Delete them or what? I got a NVDAResman.kext in /Sytem/Library/Extensions.
I have installed the 10.5.6 kexts and run the DSDT patcher, but OpenGL is not working. What next?

NVDarwin and Natit are injectors like NVInject. If you are using strings (under normal circumstances) you would want to delete them. You definitely want NVDAResman.kext as that is one of the needed Apple kexts. You could try installing NVDarwin and let me know what happens.

ok, I have removed my string in com.apple.Boot.plist and installed NVDARwin 1.2.5 (dont know if that is the right version for 10.5.6). Display in desktop fine, but game like warcraft is saying "unable to initialize OpenGL".

What distribution are you using? There must be something else wrong with your installation. You may have to re-install. Are you using the vanilla kernel or the voodoo one?

Hello I am slowly learning the OSX operating system. I currently have an MSI GT627 laptop with a 9800m GS 1GB video card. I am running everything smoothly and the video resolution is currently at 1680x1050 however it is a bit glitchy I can't view videos using VLC or even see a screen saver without it being pixelaed. The desktop looks clear and neat but I have no VGA out or HDMI out. My sound works and everything else but the video out doesnt work and I am sure the videocard isn't being used to its full potential. I see the different drivers you have above but you do not have one for the 9800m GS 1024MB version. Since I am running iDeneb 10.5.7 will the install be different for me? Can I use the GTS drivers you have for the 9800m above even though mines is a GS? Any help would be greatly appreciated. The current driver I am running is the NVinject021 -1024.

i'm sorry, i can't help with your 9700m, but i thought i'd chime in to ask (again) if there's a notable difference between most cards, and cards with an M in the name....
i still can't get my 8400mGS 128mb to work with efi strings,,,,,
but i can get it to work no problem with more or less any injector...
does anyone know of anything special that needs to be done to the plist for an M card???
thanks in advance!!

There is not particularly any one thing you have to do, but laptops are far more tricky than desktops. This is mainly as they have hardware that has been tailored with regard to a particular model. This means the NVCAP will not be standard (the bus the DVI or VGA or internal screen may be non std, so it will require editing in the input file. There is a good reference for doing this over at the NVInject forums. You will need to save the rom from your card and then use NVCap Maker (downloadable below) to find the NVCAP (Nvidia Capabilities) of your particular card. Download Link

thanks for replying aqua!!
good news and bad news.
bad news is i have been playin around with those values for a long time...
good news is a stumbled upon someones suggested plist for a 9600m,,,edited it, and BOOM
full support of my 8400mgs in snow (if i'm allowed to say that)
obv it doesnt say qe+ci, but i'm getting opencl info giving me the two devices (gpu+cpu)
the 9600 plist is
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)</key> <dict> <key>@0,AAPL,boot-display</key> <data> </data> <key>@0,built-in</key> <data> </data> <key>@0,compatible</key> <string>NVDA,NVMac</string> <key>@0,device_type</key> <string>display</string> <key>@0,name</key> <string>NVDA,Display-A</string> <key>@0,use-backlight-blanking</key> <data> </data> <key>@1,can-hot-plug</key> <data> </data> <key>@1,compatible</key> <string>NVDA,NVMac</string> <key>@1,device_type</key> <string>display</string> <key>@1,name</key> <string>NVDA,Display-B</string> <key>NVCAP</key> <data> BQEAAAAAAQAGAAAAAAABCwAAAAA= </data> <key>VRAM,totalsize</key> <data> AAAAIA== </data> <key>device_type</key> <string>NVDA,parent</string> <key>model</key> <string>NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT</string> <key>rom-revision</key> <string>test</string> </dict> </dict> </plist>
i changed model, vram, nvcap and my device id was the same!!
hope this helps someone.
