With invaluable help from Ritalin I've got ATI Displays 4.5.9 installed My X1950 XT is recognized as a X1950 series card, though the `heading says "Radeon X1900". What file do I need to edit7modify to get it saying "Radeon X1950 XT"? Aquamac: Impressive work with the Sys.Pro. and ATM . Looking good, I'm tempted to get a X1950 XT myself. I hear the PRO version is a no go due to the use of the RV570 in place of the R580. I wonder if the X1900 GT (also R580) would work, could be cheaper. I don't think the heading can be edited, it's probably a GIF and not text

Ritalin,
I am glad you got it to work one way or another!
Brainman,
Looking good, Maybe if apple release a X1950 XT some time in the future or you never know, the next version of ATI Displays? Perhaps there is something inside the package in your applications folder, (right click it and Show Package Contents, I don't have ATI displays installed, but if there was some kind of image, I bet I could mod it to say X1950 XT.
Perhaps you could send me a copy of the App?

Aquamac
App is on the way
Ritalin
I know there have been successes with both1950 GT and 1950 XTX using Jccools method. But the sure thing is to get a Sapphire X1950 XT, even without modification it's recognized as a X1900.

OK, here's how I did it: 1. Open the pkg, maneuver to Contents/Resources/en.lproj/Localized.rsrc. 2. Open Localized.rsrc with a Resource Editor, I used Rezilla. 3. Under "Type" expand PICT and look for 3221. 4. Double-click on 3221, and you'll see this: 5. Copy this and open it in a Image Editor of your choice. 6. Manipulate it the way you want . 7. Save your file as PICT, and copy it back in to the PICT Resource. 8. Save all changes, close pkg and quit Rezilla. 9. Launch ATI Displays. Here's what it looks like:

I sold my D975XBX and bought a XBX2 2.13 Core Duo, Asus 7800GTX, Cooler Master Hyper TX CPU cooler, 500GB Seagate SATA, Lite-On DVD writer IDE, Antec NeO 550 power supply, and extra 120mm Cooler Master LED Fan mounted in middle front under the DVD writer (you can see the blue light through the perforated front). And a lot of velcro cable ties to keep the wires nice and neat. Here's a stock photo of the my COOLER MASTER - CENTURION 5 case I have a transparent Hackintosh Pro X86 logo floating on the my clear side window panel... I dunno if you can see it from the pictures. I'd like thank Aqua-Mac and everyone else who has given me pointers/ideas. This Hackintosh Pro is one awesome machine, of course my Quad G5 ain't that bad... ;D The only thing that's not working is cpu temp gauges... Is there a way to get the temps to work on the mac side? Thanks again!

Hi Racerblur, You made a really tidy job of this, nice case & much nicer than most of the PC's around. I bet it gives your G5 a good run for it's money. Especially with a 7800GTX on board. If you need CPU temp guages OS X "Temperature monitor: (Bresink) should give you readings in your menu bar or are there some guages on the case? www.bresink.eu/Downloads/TemperatureMonitor.dmg

Ok... now that I have a temp gauge finally working... istat doesn't read temps with my Hackintosh for some strange reason?! I have a new problem! OpenMark crashes everytime I try to do Benchmark. I'm using 10.4.9 with DiaboliK.1049.NVidia.Installer (Natit I believe) with my Asus 7800GTX O.C. 256 (wish it was 512!) Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Today I retired my trusty old G4 and transferred all documents, apps and setting to my Hackie. Kind of a strange feeling not looking at an Apple made tower anymore, but in terms of what I've gained this was an easy choice . Next project is to modify the ATM and SysPro courtesy of Aquamac.

You could always rebuild the hackintosh in an old Mac tower. There is no practical benifit, but they do look good! Anyway congrats on your new system and I hope the G4 goes to a good home.

Hi nikonnut,
I made a couple of templates out of millboard. However, I will get them drawn up and put a downloadable drawing up soon. Was not sure if too many people would be interested as it is fairly specific to the radiator and it's position within the case. I guess with a bit of modification, it could be made to fit a number of setups.
