Hi Ritalin, My memory used to be reported as 66Mhz, but when I upgraded my bios to the latest version, it magically started to report the correct figures. So have a look and see if there is a later bios for your board. I have x benched my Hackintosh with the latest 1.3 x bench and I think it was around 179.00. I will look tonight when I am home and let you know. The most amazing thing I recall was the user interface which was around 632, probably why it feels so snappy around the desktop. To achieve 3 gigs, I have to run my 800 memory at 750, so if anything it is slightly underclocked, but Sys profiler still reports 800, so it must access the hardware id, as it always reports what the actual ram speed is in spite of the speed you run it at.  |

Asrock have released a newer BIOS so I will give it a try. Here is my xbench results. Not as impressive, but okay. Still using a PCI 6200. My CPU is quite warm 49/48 deg C as I type this so I don't have the head room to O/C. I can get the temps down by increasing the fan speed but I don't like the noise.  |

Our random uncached writes both seem pretty low, do you think this is a fault of x benches intepretation or do you think it is something more than this. I certainly havent noticed any slowdowns.

The score looks low but it may be x bench, it is not that reliable. What do you think?

I agree, Xbench seems a bit erratic. I have only used it a couple of times (on the same machine) but the results seem to vary each time.
As for the low disk score, my G5 scores lower than 'ladd's G5" possibly because the Maxtor DiamondMax 10 300GB (6B300S0) has a 16MB cache compared to the 8MB of my disk. The machine seems fast enough in use though.

This would make an interesting Hackintosh Semi Portable case:    Origen AE introduces the S21T There are a lot of different HTPC cases out there, but this one takes the top spot. The Origen AE may be larger than the usual HTPC case, but it has space for 10 hard drives, is made out of aluminum and has a 12.1 inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1200. Yes 1080p on a 12.1 inch screen. It comes with a removable mainboard tray and 3 fans. Expensive though! Click Here |

The Linksys WMP 300n PCI wireless n card is plug and go with the new Airport 2007 update that Apple posted yesterday This adds support for new Atheros chips. You may have to redo any edititing that you had performed to get any other pci network cards going though.   It is still only 54g until Apple presumably release their driver enableing n |

Hi ,
I really happy to find this forums today and say hello to all users .
I have a question about installing 10.4.8 in My pc ,
I have the pc with GA-965p-DQ6 , Intel 945D cpu and install the osx86 10.4.8 and IDE 250GB HDD and Pioneer DVDRW and setup will run normally and I install that in partition and everything is normal after that I reboot the pc and welcom message appear but My usb mouse didn't work and my ps2 key work fine .
after that I try to finish first setup without mouse and when I select the Us language the mouse icon show busy and system hang and I must restart the pc and I try for 4 or 5 more times and still happend .
anybody can help me what can I do ?

Hi Dimah,
Welcome to aquamac forums! Did you use Jas 10.4.8 reseed with Semthex. If you did, did you select the Fix USB in the options. If you did, this is your problem, as believe it or not, this actually breaks USB, as it works natively on the DQ6. I made this same mistake when I first installed OS X86.
Let me know.
Other things to know on this motherboard. (If you already got to the welcome screen - ignore this info below)
IDE does not work for installation as far as I know. You must use a Sata disk connected to the orange ports. You must use a sata convertor on your DVD drive and connect your dvd drive to the uppermost orange Sata port and your HDD to the second for OS X86 installation. In the bios you must set both Sata chips to AHCI for installation and the top setting to Native. You can switch off the lower purple ports after succesfull installation if you want. This still gives you 8 Sata connectors.

I download jas 10.4.8 But I can't undrestand this dvd is Jas 10.4.8 reseed with Semthex or not how can I find that , Please send me the link of correct DVD .
and about Hard Drive and DVD I should say I didn't find the IDE to SATA convertor and 10.4.8 install good with this setup but I have a problem with OS X first setup .

Good installation instructions are here: Click HereDuring installation, there is a button at the bottom of the last window, just before you actually start the installation that says "options", This lets you install the semthex kernel and various other fixes. Don't select the USB fix. Select Semthex, the login window fix, the via fix, the azalia fix, ICH8R fix. For the Jas 10.4.8 reseed, it is on demonoid, but I think you may already have the correct DVD. If you get really stuck, pm me or email from the aquamac site and I guess I could send a copy. I will look for a IDE/Sata convertor link. Did you actually get to the Welcome screen after installation? |
