Let me make sure I got what you're doing....
You have a 295 Single PCB.
You're using the EFI String or no?
You're using ________ Bootloader?
You have Graphics Enabler = y in boot.plist in /Extra?
You have ATY_Init in S/L/E?
You edited NVDANV50Hal and/or Resman's info.plist to add the 5eb PCIMatch string?
You have the EVGA pkg installed?
Have 10.6.2 loaded but had to restore my 10.6.1 Extensions folder to get past kp. Messy, I know but will deal with that later.
Anything else? Will try when I get home tonight so looking forward to your reply, thanks again Aqua.

P.S. Still unclear why your system most likely shows...
PciRoot(0x1)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)
And mine....
PciRoot(0x1)/Pci(0x3,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)
Is there some IRQ conflict or something that is an issue? Graphics, USB and Firewire all report an IRQ addy of 5 at boot.

Just going through my DSDT looking for possible causes / ways to fix this problem and came across this section which I think (dangerous I know) controls the PCI Express slot and it reads.... Method (_L09, 0, NotSerialized) { Notify (\_SB.PCI0.PEX0, 0x02) Notify (\_SB.PCI0.PEX1, 0x02) Notify (\_SB.PCI0.PEX2, 0x02) Notify (\_SB.PCI0.PEX3, 0x02) Notify (\_SB.PCI0.PEX4, 0x02) Notify (\_SB.PCI0.PEX5, 0x02) Should some of those 2's be changed to 0's for the second "card" / GPU? I am really grasping at straws and I swear I am going to learn the DSDT tables more but right now I am really behind on getting these systems working fully. Any help I can offer you to solve my problem I of course will, even if at this point it is utterly and hopelessly wrong. At least next time I will know not to go there.  EDIT: One more stupid Q, if I put the kernel flag -pci3 in for my card in boot.plist would this potentially solve my problem? I know, try, but if it's not that I would rather not go into -s mode and rename files, etc. I am not lazy but I think my machine is getting tired of rebooting. heheheh MW |

Macwynn,
Have you tried booting to your desktop with no monitors connected, then when you feel you are fully booted, plugging in your monitors? I would be interested to see what happens.

Yup tried multiple variations on that them too, one of my displays is DVI to HDMI adapter and the other is straight DVI so I have tried many different ways of doing just that and still no 2nd display no matter what I do. I just don't get this and working with only one display for me is like poking one of eyes out and trying te render stereo 3D images. Sucks big time in other words. Don't want to even really work on this until I have solved the problem. Even tried different BIOS'es to see what is up. If you think it is worth it I will try to yank the Trendnet Enet card and use the onboard to see if that's the prob but I am just stumped as to what else to try. I sure do appreciate the help though aqua. Need a logo or something? As to the post about the injector and the 295, can you tell me what ou are doing to make it work? MW |

Sorry about that... The post I made was in response to the one right before it when you said....one I can no longer find which means this has officially driven me insane and I should now just boot into Windows. NOT. Sorry I don't know how that happened. Anyhoo to get back on track as it were, any other ideas for editing the plist to get the right hex for this to work? In a working dual screen setup would just one 260 core be used for that or would it be one core per display? I hate to be this stuck on something, feeling very dumb, and I really am not. Have battled a good number of major issues with installs but I am fresh out of ideas on this one. You can let me know when you've had enough of me and I will walk appreciating your help regardless Aqua. Thanks for your patience. One other thing: the -pci1 string in com.apple.boot.plist Netkas mentions; would that possibly work if I put in -pci3? MacWynn |

That work. Now so can I. Still have an issue or two but minor, one is some artifacting (minor) in FC Pro but seems to be bearable, a blue line comes in at the edge of the video preview when playback stops. Will give more details after I play with the setup a little. The other may just be cosmetic but I want to fix it and am not sure how. I edited the ATY_Init.kext plist to add my dev id and vram size and it shows like this in Sys Profiler, hoping you can help me edit it properly. Thanks again for all the help Aqua. If one screen is showing as Display in System Profiler, I think you have basically disabled a card & don't have QE & CI on that one. Is yours the 2 chips on one card version. Did you try running Chess on both screens to check?

Mo I have QE/CI enabled and both screens full res. The thing is they are running on "Unknown" and the "other card" identifies as a GTX 295.
Yes it's the co-op.
Thoughts?

I got the card to fully work by editing ATY_Init and all that Aqua but not sure what I need to change in there to get the card to show up properly. Any ideas? Would like it to be perfect. Thanks Mac Wynn |
