Joe, Retire, no chance - it's the only thing that keeps me sane!!!!!! I was referring to the last mod that I never quite finished. Work keeps getting in the way! Still can't complain, there are a load of people out there at the moment that would be glad of a job!! dmkf, I am happy to upload my "technical drawing" although it is of the f*g packet variety as it was only done for myself to follow. It was not to difficult, but time consuming and took many lunch times + a few hours at the end of each day over a period of weeks. Drilling all the holes in the bottom panel made me go cross eyed for sure. Hi Aquamac, Could you be so kind as to PM me your drawings? I've been away for a while but never stopped working on my Mac Pro, After almost 5 months at ChilledPC I've finally got my case back with its new paint job! The engineers here at work have agreed to fabricate the rear IO part for me. the main thing I need from your designs is the depth, I'll be having mine built to fit the supplied rear IO plate instead of drilling out my own ports. This will mean its going to be longer with a curved end at the bottom to take in the case shape, and a cut away design at the top end to fit flush with the first PCI bracket. I'm waiting to pick up my mates DSLR before I upload any shots that do it justice. I might upload a teaser to the Hack pro thread here.. get the ppl talking. If you could let me know about the drawings pal I'd really appreciate it. If it works well and you'd like one I'll have a second made as a thankyou. J.

Joe, if the people making your I/O plate need to make more than one to bring the price down, I might be interested in getting one too. Let me know if it's possible and an idea of what it might cost.

No worries, I've been told if they cant make it in house (free) then the fabricators will charge < £50. The head design engineer has agreed to doing the technical drawings for me. I'll get one done and ensure it works then again, depending on the final cost I'll get some more made, I'll also share the drawings. The Fabricators are sub-contracted jobs from our place all the time, so I'm not expecting a huge bill. I also showed Aquas IO panel to the engineer and he cant see any issue with them being able to create it. J.

Hi blackknight,
My wife has one, my son has one, 3 are at work and I have 3 + various laptops. Yup, it's a bit like a computer shop round here. I've also built a few for other people, but just at the moment life is too busy for that.
How about everyone else. How many computers are in your house?

So this is my first time ever using Google Sketchup, I watched a couple n00b videos then just got on with it. I took the dimensions from an old IO plate, the Mac Pro case and a ruler. Gonna double check the sizes tomorrow. I have a feeling the top (bottom left of the image) may need some more attention. .. J.
