Hi Everyone, I am new here in this forum. I am Brazilian and I don't speak english very well, so please, sorry for some mistakes on my writing. I am with a Mod project to a Case of G4 and my Hackintosh. First of all, I took out all of the plastic parts of the case, and the screws of the original G4's motherboard. I made some measurements of the PC that I want to put in this case. My motherboard has a very good size, and 4 slots are aligned with 4 exits in the back of the original case. This is a small simulation I made in photoshop, just to have a visual of how the panel would appear after cutting the back. With all of this exposed, I have a great and unique problem. The RAM memory is pointed to the place of the DVD drive, and when I close the machine, it touches the drive. I would like to know if anybody knows or have any idea of how to solve this problem. And I am grateful for any help someone could give. Thanx! Carlos My Hackintosh This currently running 10.5.1 Leo + EFi 8.0 My configuration is: Motherboard ECS Elitegroup 945G-M3 processor Intel 3 Ghz HT 800 RAM 2 GB Kingston DDR2 667 HD SATAII 250GB Gforce Nvidia 7300GT 256.

Hi Carlos, Your English is fine, welcome to aquamac forums. Have a look at Ritalins project here (he is a mod here): He used a laptop DVD drive. This is one of the few options you have, other than selecting a board that you know will fit in the first place, there are only a few. Click Here

Thanx Aquamac.
the Job at Ritalins' is good.
but here in brazil DVD-RW drives for laptops are very expensive.
I would really appreciate another option, if you know some.
Also, I cannot switch my motherboard now.
I wanna try to create something not imagined yet.
Or find something that someone already did, but maintaining the original drive in place.
Or maybe something magic , LOL
thanx again

Hi Carloss,
Have you considered not having an internal DVD? You could hook up an external DVD via USB. Personally I don't use the DVD on my machine that often. You could use the space left by the absence of the DVD to fit front mounted USB/Firewire ports. Not having the internal DVD will also help to keep the machine cool.

Hi ritalin Yes, I have thought about it too. But I am leaving it as a last option, if there is no other way. I thought about reversing the front panel and the metallic parts of it upside down. As in this picture that I made as a simulation. Do you think it's gonna work? Do you know how do I remove the ink of the plastic sides to make it transparent? thanx
