Coming on nicely, good that you were able to keep the original fan at the top of the case for the power supply too.

The top fan is really quite because its connected to the motherboard but the other two front ones are so noisy since they are connected directly to the power supply and using 12v. Is there any way I can control or step down the 12v to maybe 6v. I have tried using 5v but they don't come on at all.

If you connect one wire to red and one to yellow they run at 7 volts (the differential between 12v & 5v).

Thanks Aquamac I will try that. Its only that I fried one fan yesterday, thinking I had connected 5v & 5v but it was 12v & 12v. I guess I was careless.

Providing your earths are on the bottom 3 connections at the odd end, you only have 4 data connections to worry about. You don't want to go anywhere near the two red connections at the other end as you could do damage. So knowing that, put your flash drive in one of the usb sockets and try changing the 4 data wires around till the drive mounts. Thanks Aquamac all my USB ports are working now. I did everything you told me to do and now its ok. Thanks again

Hey, glad to hear it, just audio & firewire to go! Firewire is easy, but you need a PCIe Belkin FW 800/USB 2 Card and they are not cheap. The really good news is though that they work with sleep in 10.5.2 which is actually quite unusual.

Oh! I got the Audio working as well so I have to look for PCIe Belkin FW 800/USB 2 Card. Then I will work on the back.

If you get the Belkin card, do not connect up the auxiliary power connector on it. It is not needed as power is supplied down the FW800 lead to the card and you get a nasty squealing from the PS if you do!
