Aquamac Forums I have a PowerMac G5 that I'm trying to mod for my Hackie. I have been having problems, two damaged front panel cables, with the wiring. I'm using the attached pics as guides. I have been cutting the wires and trying to splice them w/ the wires that I bought fro several different places. I was wondering should I just stick the wires into the other end of the front panel cable instead of trying to splice them? Thanks for ALL your help theManiac84 Attachments:

I always splice the wires. Don't try to do all of them at once, if you make a mistake you will confuse yourself. Start with the power and get that working. Then USB and check that works, then Firewire then Audio. I use this picture provided on Insanely mac: If you unplug the connector from the front panel board and look directly at the end - that is what this diagram shows.

hey guys I just finished my hackintosh in a G5 case, will post some pictures latter on today and aqua-mac is right on about the front panel pin-out. I have seen many pin-out diagrams on the net, but this one is the real deal. I cut that cable in half and saved one of the connectors for backup, then joined the audio, power and usb wires to old pc wires and pluged them into the motherboard, to easy.

Hi Can you please upload the cable diagram that you finally make it work. I´m trying to set my Hackintosh and will be helpful to have some guide from one that already make it. Because I was looking this post and find some discrepancies between both pictures. Thanks in advance. Cheers Daniel
