hey everyone. this is my first post and i hope someone can help me because i have tried many other forums and no one seems to want to help anyone anymore. anyway, i recently bought the Linksys WMP54GS v1.1 wifi card because there were like 4 posts on HLC about being functional out of the box. well, i wish i didnt listen to them. the reason i got this is so i dont have to worry about kexts and altering anything but i guess i have no choice. basically the issue is that its not being detected by leopard (10.5.1). i found a kext online that said it was suppose to work but he also said i need to change the NetworkInterface.plist but he didnt say what i need to change exactly. im must say i am fairly new to this but i learn quickly if someone can point me in the right direction. im not really sure what to do next. here is my specs
asus p4p800 deluxe intel p4 HT disabled linksys wmp54gs v1.1
if someone can help me i would really appreciate it. thanks!!

Send me your IO80211Family.kext from your extensions folder. My email is aquamac_mail@mac.com and I will look to see if it has your device id in it. I believe it is pci14e4,4318.

everything works great! thank you so much. for you guys who are curious, these are the steps to getting this to work. your instructions might slightly differ but you get an idea. Replace your original IO80211Family.kext with this one: rapidshare.com/files/174414928/IO80211Family.kext.zipand your original NetworkingFamily.kext with this one: rapidshare.com/files/174414883/IONetworkingFamily.kext.zipYou may get some messages about kexts not being installed proprerly, ckick OK till they go away, don't worry, we will fix that by running this Kext permissions command. rapidshare.com/files/174414928/IO80211Family.kext.zipDrag it to your desktop and double click it. Ignore the spurious message about kext cache not found, leave it running - looks like it sticks at 20% but it will get there can take 10 mins. When it has finished, close terminal and navigate to System/Library and delete Extensions.mkext. Wait a minute for it to rebuild - it will do it while you watch- takes a while maybe a minute. Reboot, but press F8 to get to the Darwin prompt, then enter: -f -v leaving a gap between them then press enter, your computer will carry on booting. When you get to the desktop open system preferences and then Networking, if you get a message saying new network interface found - you are good to go. If you don't then I think you need to upgrade to 10.5.5. thanks again to aquamac for all his help!

also, as a side note. i just built a new hackintosh and when i installed the OS it automatically installed the wifi card. so i guess OOB means when you are doing a fresh install of the OS.
