ok, i am wondering how to do this correctly. here is my dilemma... i want my server to be hooked up to 2 isp's for just in case one goes down, the other one can kick up and pull the slack for hosting my sites. I have shaw running into my server and i have the option of running telus into my server also. how would i go about doing this so that both isp's play nice and my server works without blowing up and there are no conflicts of people going to my sites? here is an image of what my setup looks like with the telus installed (hypothetically) the routers all work right now with shaw and the DHCP is working correctly without hiccups. I am just wondering how to get telus into the server and play nice.

From what i've been told how i'm gonna have to set it up is the 2 wan port router has to be directly hooked up to the two modems, and then from there to the macs. I don't think any other routers or switches can be involved for load balancing and fail safe to occur. You'll have to hook up your routers to one or two of the lan ports on the 2 wan port router for your other accessories to function. We'll figure this out together - just about to order that 2 wan port router we found

Looking at the diagram, it doesnt say what equipment is connecting you to Telus. I assume there's a router/modem there. You need a second nic in the server with its own IP address. Suggest picking a different subnet to the existing LAN/WAN connection you're using for Shaw. The challenge will be how to fail over from Shaw to Telus - your web server will have two different public-facing IP addresses - assigned by the two ISPs. Failover will be managed by DNS I guess. Will give this some more thought when not so drunk

well, what's coming off from the telus side is this funky piece of hardware. It's from 2Wire and it's a wireless router/gateway. from there, it has a line coming down here for some odd reason and it's connected. as for the second nic card, i have an smc that's mac compliant so i was thinking of hooking it up to that. now with the dns server i have, do i need to register another one, or is there a way to get both ip's running through the same dns name? *i edited the main setup pic to show a better understanding of what the network is doing and going to*
