There is a Sata driver for mac (ATA driver) that allows you to boot your mac with the bios set to IDE. I will have a look for it. Did you install all the motherboard drivers for windows (Raid drivers) of your motherboard install DVD.

Set your bios Sata to IDE then let me know the Device id of your mass storage device (it is shown during boot) and I can mod IOATAFamily.kext for you. If you want to slow the screen down disconnect your HDD's then boot and your computer should stall at the devices screen.

Was gonna offer my two pence worth but your all over that one Aqua-Mac. What version of Windows? I had this problem but the gigabyte boards are great for saving BIOS profiles... I had a Windows OC BIOS profile and a OSX OC BIOS profile.. I'd just turn the PC on. hit 'del' then F12 (i think) select what i wanted to boot and exit the BIOS. its pretty quick and painless.

The reason Windows will not boot is because there is a different driver for AHCI mode than for IDE mode. If you have another SATA controller, such as a cheap PCIex1 controller, add it to the computer with the main SATA in AHCI mode. This will install the driver for the external controller. Then shut down, connect your Windows drive to the external controller and set the main SATA ports to AHCI, then boot up. This will boot off of the external controller and install the driver for AHCI. Once you have the AHCI driver installed properly, you will be able to reconnect your windows drive to your Intel board ports and boot in AHCI mode. Good luck.
