I'd be willing to chip in or pay a little extra if I could get one shipped here to the states, I'm more into seeing the codec & trying to cloan the setup Edit* For personal use only though. macnut you can get it in usa directly from EFiX just contact, there is soon a EFiX USA retailer coming but if you want it now get it from main site

Well I've still not heard anymore about mine.... :-( It doesnt yet support my hardware... but I imagaine its only a matter of time.. once youve got a P35,P45,X38,X48 motherboard working I cant forsee it being anything else but time consuming to support other/all manufactures of said chipsets.

I have to say that I had a plan a while back to build a hackintosh out of an old B&W G3 case, a kalyway build, and an asus motherboard; however, things have really changed. I am glad that I help back, because those were the "dark ages" of building a hackintosh. I have been able to convince my wife (big time mac user that doesn't trust hackintosh hardware) to finally let me have a go at a no sh** hackintosh. What was the magic that changed her opinion? EFI-X was the magic. Real mac users want nothing to do with messing with a command line at all. All they want to do is to be able to install OSX without any fuss at all and just have things work. This after all is the famous macintosh paradigm. It just works. Well, now I believe EFI-X can finally deliver that holy hackintosh grail at quite a minimal cost. The hardware is pre approved, so there is no problem there. The software is Apple developed, so you have top notch there. So, really the last thing that drove me nuts with building a hackintosh was the case, hence the original plan to use a G3 B&W case. Well, I did some research and found that Raidmax makes quite a mac like computer case that opens up even more easily than a G3 B&W case. This case is the Raidmax Smilodon. I can now put together a real wish list that includes the EFIX dongle. This will be my new plan and my new project.

I found a review on that case, very nice. I like the swing down door idea too. *edit* Sorry about the advertisement, that's not my idea, it's an affiliation with the youtube link built into this forum. *edit2* sorry to disturb this part of the forums, but i found the case in Canada. Located here at NCIX BC.

I don't know how they do it, but Raidmax offers some good prices on their products. Here is a deal from newegg where you can get a smilodon case with an included 530W modular power supply for $99 after the rebate (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156209). Oh, and if you just want the case without a power supply newegg is selling them for $80!
By the way, I actually was fortunate enough to find the 3dgameman website on my own as well. That guy has reviewed a ton of products for people that build their own systems. You will notice that the latest version of the smilodon case now comes with a rear 120mm exhaust fan, so that removes the one big negative that he stated in the video review. The smilodon is the most mac like pc case I have been able to find. In fact in many ways it is better than the Apple G3 B&W cases as you can fit a full size ATX motherboard, full ATX power supply, it has lots of ventilation, and it still has tons of room for storage. I haven't actually measured the case but I bet it is about the same size as well. I like the way both sides of the case can be completely opened up without having to do anything more than pop the integrated latch handle. I have also looked around to see if there are any other companies out there that are making cases that open up like this and so far the answer is no. You can find some cases that have removable or slide out motherboard trays, but they are expensive and not as nice. So, I have been following the forums and developments over at EFI-X and it looks like they are experiencing a huge backorder problem, since they did not anticipate the huge demand there would be for their product. That is a good sign. Also, the fact that Apple hasn't been able to immediately shut down psystar is also a good sign. It looks to me like we are going to be able to have our mac clones without a fear that Apple is going to beat down our doors and jail us for using their OS on our hardware. I think the big test for EFI-X will be how they handle the snow leopard and inevitable new hardware that Apple will throw at them. If Apple doesn't shut the OSX86 world with snow leopard, then either they never will, or they simply can't do anything about it.

amantheboy08 ---> you seem to be the king of all things EFIX.. what's cracking off with DFi support? This thing is pretty useless to me until then.
