Hi everyone, Due to the popularity of OSX 86 and the suggestion by other members yesterday, I have created a new board for post installation problems in OSX 86.

Sounds like a Master plan!
Quick question for you Aqua, your ASUS ATX mobo fitted in your latest HackPro... does the Apple CPU Cover actually cover the RAM like it does on mine? I've been looking at alot of Mobo designs in my search for the quick fix... and i'm begining to think my Apple CPU cover may require some more triming..
LOL... The MSI, DFI, and now the ASUS boards have all gone..
Will be taking the rug apart later today... I'll try booting it up table top style as Ive have the BIOS battery out over night.
Joe.

Joe,
I did not have to trim the processor cover, but I did have to trim the memory cage and cut round the ram!

No Joy! The Battery was out over night... I've removed everything from my macpro case wired it up on my desk and i still have the same issue.. tried one DIMM in each Slot and nothing... boot 2 seconds and off.... DAMM! All the good board have gone from the OCUK sale... so I'm without my Hack for a while. nevermind. J.

I'm not sure... but i think Aqua-Mac has a guide to this on this main site... if not I'm pretty sure there is a thread on here with a step by step.. I've done it a couple time then i just made a back up of my modified files and drop them in very new build.
I found what i thought would be a last hope guide to recovering my DS2R but it didnt work.. I'm gonna try a 24hour CMOS clear... never heard of that before but Anything at this point is worth a try.
its called the:
If none of those fix it, try the infamous DFI Long Bios Clear. Remove power from the rig by disconnecting the power cord from the wall outlet. Make sure the PC Speaker is plugged in. Remove the Battery. Move the CMOS jumper to CLEAR. Press the Start Button on the case or motherboard to drain the capacitors. You may leave the board in this condition for as long as it takes to clear the CMOS. If a short 30 second clear or a 15 minute clear doesn't work, try an 8 hour clear then a 24 hour clear. Plug in a PS2 Keyboard. Put one stick of RAM in the slot closest to the cpu. Replace the Battery. Move the CMOS jumper to Normal. Press and hold the Insert Key on the Keyboard. Apply power to the rig by plugging the power cord into the wall outlet. Press the Start Button to power the rig up while holding down the insert key. When you hear the BEEP, release the Insert Key and press the Delete Key on the Keyboard. Once you enter the BIOS set the DATE and TIME then Load Optimized Defaults. Save and Exit. Enter the BIOS again and set it up the way you want for your particular rig.
and worked for a fella on that forum using a DS3L...
nevermind...

Shanky, Have a look at this. Navigate to System/Library/CoreServices and find "loginwindow" right click it selecting "Show Package Contents". Double click "Contents" and "Resources". Back up MacOSX.tiff and put the new one in I have posted here. Repair Permissions, log out then log back in. Hit "about this mac" and see your new one. If you want different coloured writing, (for using a dark background like HUD) just say. Joe, Got my fingers crossed!

Do you lot think i should send my RAM back again as they sent me 4 x 1gb Ballistix 8500 and not 2x 2gb (2x1gb) Ballistix tracer 8500 kits... The replacment RAM is single sided... but only require 2.0v for 5.5.5.15 1066mhz the Tracers required 2.2v for 5.5.5.15 the only dif is L.E.D's but they did look pretty cool! J.

If they didn't send what you asked for, I say send it back Joe, after all this limits the amount of ram you can put in your computer to a max of 4 gigs when I assume you were after the chance to built it up to 8 gigs one day.
