Don't know if you guys have seen these but I just got one off of ebay and it worked out pretty good. ..from this ebay seller out of Hong Kong: myworld.ebay.co.uk/adncc2008Sender address on the package had him down as "Einstein Cheung". Great moniker. The dongle is picked up by OS X and works a treat: Not bad for a couple of quid! ;D

ok has anyone else had problems pairing up their mighty mouse and apple keyboard? it refuses to pair. here is the info from the system profiler:
Apple Bluetooth Software Version: 2.1.3f8 Hardware Settings: Ayman’s Mac Pro: Address: 00-15-83-16-bf-5b Manufacturer: Cambridge Silicon Radio Firmware Version: 3164 Bluetooth Power: On Discoverable: Yes HCI Version: 3 ($3) HCI Revision: 3164 ($c5c) LMP Version: 3 ($3) LMP Subversion: 3164 ($c5c) Device Type (Major): Computer Device Type (Complete): Macintosh Desktop Composite Class Of Device: 3670276 ($380104) Device Class (Major): 1 ($1) Device Class (Minor): 1 ($1) Service Class: 448 ($1c0) Requires Authentication: No Services: Bluetooth File Transfer: Folder other devices can browse: ~/Public Requires Authentication: Yes State: Enabled Bluetooth File Exchange: Folder for accepted items: ~/Downloads Requires Authentication: No When other items are accepted: Ask When PIM items are accepted: Ask When receiving items: Prompt for each file State: Enabled Devices (Paired, Favorites, etc): Ayman’s mouse: Name: Ayman’s mouse Address: 00-1d-4f-53-64-3b Type: Mouse Firmware Version: 512 Services: Mighty Mouse Paired: No Favorite: Yes Connected: No Manufacturer: Broadcom ($2, $314) Incoming Serial Ports: Serial Port 1: Name: Bluetooth-PDA-Sync RFCOMM Channel: 3 Requires Authentication: No Outgoing Serial Ports: Serial Port 1: Address: Name: Bluetooth-Modem RFCOMM Channel: 0 Requires Authentication: No
it either fails to pair (right before i have to enter the passcode) or the mouse isnt discoverable at all. there is so much slow down when using any of the bluetooth preferences. to much "not responding". maybe i should of just paid $20 and got myself a quality one.

This happens if your kernel is not from the same update as your system.kext. So like if you have 10.5.6 but with the 10.5.5 voodoo kernel.
To get this to work, search for the two instances of 9.5 (if you wanted to upgrade a 10.5.5 kernel) and change to 9.6. Your bluetooth will then function again.

email your mach_kernel to me. You will have to unhide it first, and I will fix it for you.

someone on another forum said to try this:
cd / sudo mv mach_kernel mach_kernel.backup sudo ln -s mach_kernel.voodoo mach_kernel
this didnt work. but can someone explain to me what is actually going on here? i since upgraded from the voodoo kernel to a pure vanilla kernel. that didnt do nothing. what are my other options?
update:
downgrading the IOBluetoothFamily.kext to the 10.5.5 solved the issue with the mighty mouse. for the life of me i could not get it to pair. its the d**n password thing. it wont let me enter a key. i tried doing it without a passcode but it doesnt work. i even tried the kext from 10.5.2 thinking it might help, it did not. im really close to giving up on the keyboard. it seems many people are having problems with the keyboard. i tried updating the firmware on the keyboard via my MBP and it says its already up to date. what else can i do. seems like no one here cares but hopefully someone will be able to help me with this. thanks again everyone two tried!
