Dear Aqua Mac Forums I have enjoyed my time within these forums gathering info about the world of "Hankintosh" eagerly anticipating the day I take the plunge and build my own. Well that day was today and I ran into a problem that I have not read about with this vast knowledge base for helping othere achieve that PC/Mac. I am trying to install iATKOS v1.0i to rig that has these specs: - Intell Core 2 Quad Q9300
- Zalman CNPS 8000
- Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R
- 4GB of OZC PC800 Memory
- 2 SATA 250 Hard drives
- 2 SATA DVD Burners
- 700 W FSP PSU
- Antec Solo Case
As stated earlier I'm trying to install iATKOS v1.0i and evrything goes well except when I try to write the permissions for the Darwin Boot Utility I get an error message that states "the drive (hard drve) can not be exclussively acessed. The system needs to reboot for changes to take place" After I get the above message I can not "quit" Darwin Boot Utility so I close it and proceed with the instal and get a successful instal stall screen. I then can not get the DVD to open and the system reboots and when I press F8 to make sure I boot from the prescibe Hard Dive destination I only see my DVD drive. When I retry I see, before I erase the HD that I want to install Leo on that 5-6 GB of space has been used but I can not boot from from that HD. Could some give some answers on what I can do to get the Darwin Boot Utility to work? Thanks in advance theManiac84

Hi There,
Did you set the bios to AHCI?
Unfortunately I am no expert on iATKOS as I have not used it. If you have a retail leo disk and access to any working mac, I would urge you to follow Ritalins method to make your own instal DVD here at the forums.

Thanks for the help. I went back and tried the install again but this time I went w/ iATKOS 2.0i. The install went thru w/o a hic-up. I had o change bios back to boot first from my HD and wala! I'm a member of the Hackintosh community.
Thanks Aquamac
