How to Build Hackitosh for FCP2????

Hi All,

need some help to build NEW Hackintosh for Final Cut Pro Studio 2 configuration aka Video Editing Hackintosh, maybe u guys can help me to provide the spec of:

MOBO?
Processor?
Ram?
Power Supply?
ETC

Last Time i already build 1 hackintosh using
ASUS P5K Mobo
2.6 ghz Duo Core
2gig Ram
Nvidea 8600gt
and everything i need, but i cannot run the FCP2,

need help from u guys to give me the actual spec for FCP2

Hi Recorn,

Sorry for not getting back sooner, pretty busy today. I am sure that the spec you speak of will work fine with your proposed Hack. The one thing you may want to stretch to is a 8800 GT. You can pick them up far cheaper now and they are a good bang per buck. The Asus and core duo are fine, but also check out the 2.4 Core 2 Quads, the price is pretty reasonable and you can overclock to 3 gigs on air cooling without any problems. A 600 watt supply will be more than adequate, I have had good experiences with Hiper supplies, I used this one:

thanks for the reply Steve,can u give me the actual configuration for setting up the Video Editing Hack Pro? so i don't need waste my money to buy other things.
but for this configuration its is ca be done to play FCP2???

Ah I see. So you already built the hack. hopefully one of the other guys will help you as I do not have FCP 2. I will check the specs when I visit the Apple store later today.

Good News, my P5k now Running all Software including FCP2 6.0.2 and others,
wosh im happy now with my editing suite, hehehe, thanks alot steve, now my 2nd project is P5E with 2 core dual 3.0ghz, 8gig or 16gb for editing to (still waiting for budget), if anything i will post here

Hey im also looking to build a hackintosh for FCP2? I saw that blog on the link, just wanted to know if anybody had any ideas of other combos? and why would certain hackintoshes not like FCP2? Thanks for any info

It's not that the hackintosh don't like the FCP2 it's because some VGA don't support QE/CI.The other problem could be that your computer is under the minimum requirments for running FCP2.

yo.....

right now it's ok to run but sometimes it's freez on certain place...... after capture to final it's ok... but when going to heavy effects it seem going to freez...... it's going for me.... don't now why but still under testing ...........my hack so far running smooth with others only for FCP it troublesome..... wonder why? but still under investigation..
