Here is your com.apple.boot.plist and a backup of your output file: rapidshare.com/files/319529939/Dual_9500_GT.zipI would think you may have to set your bios to boot from the second card - this is important if you get a kernel panic at boot.

When I switched the BIOS to boot from the second card, it failed and I got nervous. It came up with the gray screen telling me to restart my box. I switched it back to boot from the first card and it works just fine. Would a kernel panic happen during boot up or during normal activities?

Hey strange, Gigabytes nearly always need booting from card 2 except some X58's. Glad it works though, great. If you got to the desktop, your home and fine. Six pac, dunno £5-8. Looks like this guy had one too many!!!!!

Hi!
I need more info on the "Dual GeForce 9800 GTX 512 mb cards" you mention on the first page. Are you referring to a Dual GPU GeForce 9800 GTX 512 mb card, a single GPU or both?
Would the "+" version also work? GeForce 9800+ GTX 512 mb card
I also saw some with 1gb instead of 512mb. Would OS X use the extra memory?
Thanks for your help.

This is for 2 separate 9800 GTX cards. Yes OSX can see 1 gig of memory per card but there is still a problem with 2 gig cards.

Hello! I stumbled on this forum through insanelymac and this appears to be almost exactly what I need. I am trying to get my machine (specs in sig) to boot with dual 8800 Ultras. On this tutorial there is a download for dual 9800GTX 768mb, will this work for me? If not is there one floating around somewhere that I can use?
Currently I have been able to use NVEnabler to boot with one 8800 in either of my slots with full res and support, and it appears to be stable. However whenever I insert both cards it hangs at boot. As you can imagine removing a card to boot up in OSX is a pain! To try to fix this I removed all of the graphics related nvidia kexts (I was using OSX86 Tools to inject a GFX string for one ultra) but now am without QE and res... Do I need to reinstall or will this be fixed with your process?
The tutorial says that this may not work with nvidia chipsets... and I have a 680i board, should I expect more problems? Looking forward to your help! pts211

I have put up the input list for a pair of 8800 GTX 768's. Download the file from here and follow the tutorial. You will need to get your 2 PCI addresses by installing 1 card at a time and running the GFX strings. Remember if you are using Snow LEO you will need to make the output file in Leo.

I have some questions. I am running a ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution Board with Xeon3520. Will I have success with this method on my board? I will ask before I reinstall a Leopard 10.5 to be able to create the output file!
Help would be nice. by the way, I am planning to use two nvidia 9600 GT 512 MB...
BR, derpuma
@aquamac is it possible for you to make me a dualstring for the 9600GT 512MB and give me the right PCIroots for the ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution? I saw that I do not have an old backup of Leopard... Your help could save me a complete reinstall ox 10.5! Help would be awesome...

Hi and welcome. Download this P6T6 input file: rapidshare.com/files/323224382/in.plist.zipYou will have to make an output file in Leopard. You can only use the blue slots 1 & 5 on this board. Don't put a card in the middle blue slot on this board. When you have made your output file, copy it to your com.apple.boot.plist with device properties.

Aquamac, is there any way to make this work for a laptop running two nVidia 260M GTX's with 1GB of RAM each? I have an Alienware M17x and everything works on it but sound (which I can probably fix) and graphics acceleration. I got my full 1920x1200 resolution --- in the form of the language screen of death so I know that the card is supported if I can just find a way to get OS X to play nice. I thought about changing the device ID on the card to a 280M GTX ID and just blacklisting anything nVidia except my single 260 but obviously that mod isn't ideal. Any ideas? Has this worked on laptops before? I'm getting annoyed with just having 1024x768 resolution...
