Since the release of Mac Pro, the owners of the previous model have been hoping that a 8800 GT model compatible with their machine will (soon) be available, and despite promises made by NVidia this is still not so. A reader of Macrumors decided to put the question directly to Steve Jobs via mail. He responded and his answer could revive hopes: "NVidia has not stepped up, we will have to do so. This should be available within a month." See you in May to learn more.

About time I guess. I think it was a bit short sighted of Apple to not realise what agro this would cause. Good news that they are going to put it right though. It would be even better news if they announced that 9800 GTX would be available as an upgrade option on all Mac Pro's, but I cannot see that happening!!
