Kenji,
That looks fantastic. Looks like you made a really nice job. The Gigabyte board seems to fit really well. Can you give us the specs, I am sure there will be a number of people interested in knowing the part number of the board. Did you fit a core duo?
Congratulations on a job well done!

Kenji, I'm impressed. I can't wait to get started on my Quicksilver now.

Thank you aquamac and ritalin ;D The motherboard is Gigabyte GA-945GCM-S2L fitted with 2.4 GHz Core2Duo oveclocked to 3.0 GHz. This is almost a perfect board except for one, just one capacitor near the RAM banks. If that capacitor is not there, no need to slice-off some parts of the optical drive and the drive cage. I initially planned to remove the capacitor and extend the legs so I can solder it sideway on the board but my motherbaord has one year warranty. So I just removed some plastics on the edge of optical drive and drive cage so I can close the dropdown door.

While we are on the subject of Quicksilvers, I wanted to see if you can get a full size board in there. I have a Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 that I was going to sell and I had a Quicsilver case too, so in answer to the question does it fit....... It's not finished yet and obviously wont boot OSX with Quad SLi 7900 GTX's on board, but it could make a pretty good winblows gaming machine! Just needs the last wires connecting, then there is the small problem of a processor!!! The CD drive will really be a challenge and will need to be a Ritalin special I think! Also, no PS2 mouse & Keyboard for this baby! However the case closes fine.

Wow, those are a couple of machines my QS will defiantly look up to. Praise to the hackintosh gods. *bows*

Also, with the processor, try using one of those 1U rackmount heatsinks. If they can cool an Opteron and Xeon nicely, they can keep this baby cool. As for the CD, try using an external, and plug it in when you need it. Some of the games i play don't require a CD to play anyways so use the retail space for cooling and such. All in all, that would still be a sweet mod.

Thanks JJ,
Do you have a pic of one of those heat-sinks?

Aqua, thanks for answering that question. ;D As you know I've been wondering if a full ATX board would go in my new QS case. So do you think any ATX board will fit? Did you have to trim the board at all? I'll be looking for a budget P35 ATX board. They are cheaper than the two mATX G33/G35 boards that I've seen.

Hi Ritalin, Just a few things. I had to nibble a tiny bit out of the top back corner of the main chassis. But it is not noticeable when its done. I had to cut a slight angle on the motherboard at the bottom back, similar to the one on a Quicksilver board, there were no electronics around there. The graphics card fitted in the top available slot, but there was a 1x PCIe slot that is now not usable near the processor as there is no opening for it. Watch out as some boards have 2 of these small slots before the main 16x slot and that might push the second long slot to the bottom exit hole. I also lose the very bottom PCI slot on my board. Here is the layout of my board:
