Are you using snow leo? If you are it already has 200 series drivers. What 10.5 or 10.6 are you using - also, can you post system profiler Graphics/Displays.

Hello! Seeing as this thread (or aquamac) has helped many others, see if it can help me too! Been working on this hackintosh for about 3 days now, so I should be getting close!
Alright, my problem is Quartz Extreme. Just can't get it to work. I've tried your gfx-strings, they show up but no quartz extreme supported! I've also tried NVkush, NVinject and NVdarwin with no success whatsoever. I've repaired permissions with the disk utility, but alas.
I am using iPC_OSx86_10_5_6_Universal_PPF5_Final My rig is: Motherboard: Asus P5VDC-X (via chipset) Gfx: Gainward Geforce 8800GTS 640 any more info you need?
here's from the more-info-tab: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS DDL:

Thanks for the quick reply, I did finally get it working. I guess the NVinject didn't want to play nice with what I was doing but after a full reinstall, removing NVinject, and using your instructions for the EFI string (THANK YOU!), the graphic card came up with full QE/CI and all resolutions available. Photoshop CS4 has never been so fast!!

Marlattd,
Glad you got it going!
Rkn,
From the info you supply, your strings are working. My suggestions would be, make a new DSDT.aml file and double check you don't have NVInject,NVDarwin etc in your System/Contents/Extensions file.

make a new DSDT.aml file and double check you don't have NVInject,NVDarwin etc in your System/Contents/Extensions file. Thank you for your quick reply, I've recently reinstalled the whole system and I didn't add any additional video kexts so Extensions/ should be completely empty of such files, but I will check anyway, excuse my noviceness, but how do I make a new DSDT.aml file? I've never done that before. edit: I hope it's not by using "DSDT Patcher", because that didn't fix it anyway, tried all the options. EDIT: I'm also trying to install iDeneb v1.6 10.5.8 Lite, see if it makes any difference.

I tried this yesterday, it works, so i got full QE/CI and all resolutions available.
BUT i have some artifacts! and they come up random. and it seems to freeze the Graphics after a while. only mouse movements works.
I have a 7900GTX modded to Quadro 5500. so , im thinking. if i flash back to geforce 9700GTX, ( but still hackintoch modded), will that maybe be a salvation to the artifacts?
any experience on that?
Im using IPC 10.5.6
EDIT: Im trying to install iDeneb v1.6 10.5.8 Lite Edition right now

rkn,
Yes it is using DSDT patcher I am afraid.
darkfashion,
I gues we could try that but it should not make any difference. Do you have a windows install to try and see if you still get the artifacts.

Okay, d**n. Well, I'll try everything again on iDeneb and see if that works. I also tried my old geforce 4 Ti4200, and it just didn't wanna enable QE. What a bummer. Must be something with my motherboard being unusual, or something.

You won't get QE & CI on geforce 4. The card is to old to work on Intel with those features.

darkfashion,
Although I never touched the clocks of your card, maybe reducing then a little with Nibitor would help. Certainly worth a try. Can you let me know what they are?

Of cource Aquaman.
If i did it right:
I used system information on Nvidia control panel
Core Clock 650 Mhz Memory clock 800 Mhz ( 1600 Mhz data rate )
Have in mind that it´s from the original rom from the card ( flashed it to see if there was some difference)
thanks!
