Let's start from the beginning again, Tell me your PCIe address for your graphics card - it will read something like this: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x3,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0) and I will write a com.apple.boot.plist for you. You need to also check you have the following kexts in your system: NVDANV50Hal.kext NVDAResman.kext GeForce.kext GeForceGAPlugin GeforceVADriver.kext GeForce8xxxGLDriver If you don't have all of these then you will never get your system working properly. If you are using DSDT.aml, and you have changed your graphics card, this will stop QE & CI working too. You need to remake with the 9600 installed. Only use the std graphics kexts from 10.5.7 if thats what you are using. Don't use my 10.5.5 kexts on anything but 10.5.5 otherwise they will stop QE & CI from working too. My PCIe address is : PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0) NVCAP is : 0400000000000100060000000000000700000000 The files mentioned by you are there in my system, except that the GeforceVADriver and GeForce8xxxGLDriver files are .bundle files and not .kext - does that matter? DSDT.aml doesnt exist in my system and I have not installed any of your drivers. Just a reminder, that not only does QE/CI not work, but also I get ghosting effect when I move my windows or scroll.

Hi gyanesh,
As I do not know what your plist looks like, here is your correct output file that should be pasted into device properties:

If you want me to make your apple.com.boot.plist for you, you will have to send it to me.

I have tried playing Monopoly and Braid which are not very graphic intensive. Is it because the system doesnt know the display i.e. the Monitor (the way you install monitor drivers also in Windows).
Besides, I dont understand why my RAM is shown as 667MHz speed though it is of 800MHz speed!
Also, my Samsung IDE DVD writer doesnt work - can you suggest something for that too?
Cheers

Aquamac
quick question for you. Since dual dvi monitors work on a gtx-280 in snow leopard could we possibly grab the drivers from snow and use them in leopard. I am tired of messing with snow right now but need dual displays in Leopard.
Thanks Jim

Oh yeah one more thing... When snow leopard boots it says nvdanv50hal has loaded maybe that is the driver?
Thanks

Hey aqua, I finally got snow up and running on all of my systems but the video acceleration is giving me problems on my latitude D820. It has the nvidia quadro nvs 120M which is the same apparent as the 7400go. In leopard, strings wouldnt allow the system to boot so i had to use NVKush and that worked beautifully. Now however the kext isnt 64-bit compatible and doesnt work in snow. I generated strings for it in snow using your 256 generic which allowed the system to boot with proper resolution but no QE/CI. My device id is 0x01d8. In watching verbose mode i see that NVHal40 loads and registers, something i should modify?

gyanesh,
No your monitor should be fine, I suspect it's the disk you used to install. Some of the distributions out there do seem to give problems. Or you have had to mess around quite a bit and possibly something got screwed. You could save your com.apple.boot.plist and try reinstalling Leo, then re input the com.apple.boot.plist.
Jimmydigital100,
Unfortunately you cannot use snow graphics drivers in Leo - they are just too different! However, dual GTX 280 monitors in Leo should be no problem, just install the GTX 285 drivers from this forum. Hell, I had triple cards and 6 monitors in Leo withGTX 280 so a pair is no problem.
Jaev,
Make your string in Leopard for the Quadro. Trying to make them in Snow gives an incorrect string and at the moment cannot be done. However, if you make the string in Leo, then transfer it to Snow, it should be fine. Don't know if there are other problems with that card though.

So I installed the gtx-285 Evga drivers is that correct? I found a link on netkas.org when i rebooted i know have a black screen.... Is this because I did not enter a efi string for the gtx-280?
So my question is, do I need a efi string in addition to the drivers and did I install the correct ones?
Thanks

Yes you need to install GFX strings as well as the drivers. The reason for that is you don't have an EFI bios. GFX strings replace the code that is missing at boot on your PC. You will always need some way to inject that code. GFX strings is not a driver, it merely replaces boot code that is missing from your graphics cards rom.

You also probably need to re make your dsdt.aml file if you made one with the nvidia card in. (It's located in your root directory - hard drive). Other than that, I would say there is some kext or plist somewhere in your system that is not there or giving problems. I don't have a DSDT.aml file in root dir...Looks like it's pretty complicated to do it, reading from the problems that people have in the forums. Hmm.
