I have heard of this happening before with AMD. Are you still using GFX Strings?

I have tried the same one you have suggested me, and still it doesnt work, it still doesnt detect the device, both input and output.
Is there any places i have to check before i ask further questions?
Also, any idea why my itunes doesnt work at all? I play a music the timeline shows that it will play but the timeline doesnt move, nor the time plays, and no sound at all

Don't know about itunes, you could try re-installing it though, download from Apple.

yep i did try that one, upgraded into version 8 and still the same result, but any idea on the sound problem?
i have researched through and ppl in insanelymac have been talking about a patch
AppleHDAPatcherv1.20
and i saw a post that says one of the patch screw his comp up so i was not sure what to do now.
I think this is the last help i need, seems like my biggest one for my studies.
thank you very much though of getting me this far

When you tried the above link did you remove AppleAzalia.kext. Otherwise it will not work. Azalia always overwrites AppleHDA.kext.
Unfortunately the best resource for OSX 86 audio was Taruga's site, but that has been down for ages.
You could try removing ALCInject.kext and replacing with HDAEnabler.kext. I really don't know if this will work. I always have a spare HDD with a cloned install on to test things such as HDAPatcher. That way if you mess up it does not matter.

Hey Aquamac! I did exactly as you said I took the Rom file from my 8400GS card and ran the NVCAP maker app and I got this string: 04000000000003000c0000000000000700000000 Also I need to warn you that I found out the MEMORY size of my card says 256 on the box it came in but windows is reporting at at 512. So I now not sure if its 256MB or 512MB card This is the EXACT card I have. It is made by Hewlett Packard. www.amazon.com/NVIDIA-GeForce-8400GS-Graphics-adapter/dp/B0013FIF4E/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1233605816&sr=1-4KEEP in mind that is NOT a DVI port on that card, but a Proprietary port that uses a VGA Y cable to go to two VGA connections. (It mentions that in the comments on the amazon page as well) So if I can get a GFX string that will work with both my 9600GT and my 8400GS that would be awesome so I can use all 3 of my monitors (or even 4 monitors!) I also need to send you a money donation for your efforts. The resolution of ALL my monitors is 1920x1080 if that helps Thanks AQUAMAC FOR ALL YOUR HELP! -vjdave

Vjdave, Here is your com.apple.boot.plist made for your 2 cards. I have included all the information, like the out.hex and in.plist also in case you need to make further adjustments. This is based on you putting your 9600GT in the first PCIe slot and your 8400 GS in slot PCIe 2. rapidshare.com/files/193088931/aquamac_9600_GT_Dual_8400GS_GFX_strings.zipNow, before this might work, you may have to go in the bios and boot from the 8400 GS and attach your monitor to that card. Try it to start though by attaching the monitor to the 9600GT in slot 1 and leave the bios. You may find that your motherboard will not support 2 cards in OSX. If you stick at the blue screen, switch the monitor to the second card and change the bios. I'll leave you to experiment, let me know how it goes.

Sacan, Your 9800 GT 1024 MB input file is now at the begining of this post. Srini, To remove NVKush.kext, navigate to your System folder then Library/Extensions and delete NVKush.kext. If you are on 10.5.6 you do not need to install any drivers but will need to install GFX Strings. If you are on 10.5.5, you will need to install these drivers: aquamac.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=osx86driversandkexts&action=display&thread=700and install GFX Strings

thanks aquamac . did as per your instructions. now got the resolution at 1440X900 but the refresh rate is missing and the device specs showing card memory as 256mb where as actually it is 1024mb- 1Gb how can i resolve the refresh rate problem. by the way i have to keep all the drivers [installed through your rapidshare.com/files/156247292/NVIDIA_9000_Series_Driver_v2.zip.html ] or can i delete unnecessary drivers pertaining to 7xxx,8xxx series.. note::: QE and CI is working fine as per the specs showing and rotation is enabled... please clarify thanks

srini,
Remake your strings with the file I have now included in the first post of this thread for your card.
Don't delete any kexts.
