ok... i managed to solve the problem.. it's actually simple than i thougth... I just have to find and edit this files... (before, i can not find it/ hidden in Mac OSX unlike in Win7) Open the Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 folder in your Applications folder: - Right click or control click on the Premire CS 5 application and select: "Show Package Contents" - Now Open the "Contents" folder, then open the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" file and add: "GeForce GTX 295" to the list and save the file" www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=184318&st=100&start=100Thanks |

Hey I need some help here
I have an EVGA 9800GTX+
I can only get it to work using Snow Leopard 10.6.2
But here is the thing.... I do not want to use Snow leopard.. since I'm on AMD and well I can't give use of my 8gb ram(only with -force64 which is useless), only Leopard can handle it with no issues
So anyways I can install with my rig iAtkos V7 (I do not choose any video kext/drivers)... the only thing I can't get to work is the Graphic Card.. I can only boot into the desktop with: -x busratio=20
Adapter I use with for my monitor is: DVI to VGA
Specs:
MSI 770-C45 AM3
AMD Phenom ii x4 965BE C3
8gb DDR3-1600
1TB / 500GB / 400GB
EVGA 9800GTX+
I've already tested the String with OSX86tools choosing 9800GTX but it gives me blue screen without ( -x )... so yeah a no go... I have no issues re-installing... so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you have the latest version of Chameleon installed. I don't fully understand why snow leopard would not be able to use all your ram?

I don't fully understand why snow leopard would not be able to use all your ram? are you replying to me? i posted in my first comment in the very beginning I have managed to have it working fine for Snow Leopard(no need for any strings it works out-of-the-box)... but I do not want to use snow leopard... I want to use Leopard (iatkos v7) in which I've upgraded to 10.5.8... so any help for 9800GTX+ on Leopard 10.5.8 ? |

Yes. I think 9800 needs at least 10.5.7 to function correctly, so you are fine with 10.5.8 It is known to work with strings so you can either use EFI studio or the best way is to manually install them as in the walkthrough on this site. Also I use vanilla install and change as little as possible though you will obviously need an AMD kernel. Do you have a real Mac that you can do a USB install to using a genuine Leopard disk? I would personally never use one of the distribution disks as they seem to create problems. You said that snow worked out of the box, but you must have selected some form of injection as no graphics card will work with OSX86 without help. Have you tried using the graphics enabler string in your com.apple.boot.plist?

AMD is huge HASSLE compared to Intel as for an install with retail disc.. plus a distro is a much smaller ISO... as for my experiences with Distro's been using them for over 3 years never had any issues with them(on Leo or Snow), I've also done many Retail installations ofcourse on Intel's vanilla way... but for this board Distro is the way to be... since its a major short cut & they usually provide most of the necessary kexts needed for many computer hardwares(computer setups). Anyways I already tried EFI Studio, the one I downloaded for some reason does not have the card 9800GTX+ & the osx86tools also did not have the 9800GTX+ strings either ... but using osx86tools I tested 9800GTX and all I got was blue screen without "-x" Could you provide me the *Guide you mentioned "the best way is to manually install them as in the walkthrough on this site." ... or post me the strings of my card 9800GTX+ I'll manually add it to my com.apple.Boot.plist Thank you |

Can this GFX string walkthrough work on the Quadro FX 1400 in snow leopard? I've tried all the enablers and they don't work but the card works fine in leopard 10.5.5
any help would be great...

the card has 128 vram and used nvdarwin 1.2.1 in Leo

Sorry it took me too long to make the test, but it failed.. the screen stayed on verbose mode (tried unpluggin & replugging the dvi), tried your process about 3 times to be certain.... so I removed the string and further more made other tests
osx86tools strings of 9800GTX give me blue screen... now I wanted to test other stuff (removed the string after testing).... tried netkas ATY_Init.kext and it also gave me blue screen, then tried the "Enabler_for_Nvidia_and_multiple_ATI_cards.pkg.zip" and it also gave me the blue screen ... my guess its also the same thing as ATY_Init.kext
What does that blue screen mean?
Also through verbose mode on all of them, I've tried... I always see allot of Display matched failed... no matter what used or without any kext or strings... any other ideas what I could test? I reverted currently reinstalled back on to 10.5.7

I've just tried NVenabler but it just also gave me blue screen  I might give up on this evga card... does anybody want to exchange with mines for a working Leopard 10.5.8 Graphic Card |
