Acer Aspire 5100

This is my first *cough* (actually 2nd attempt) at throwing mac at my Acer Aspire 5100 Laptop
Here are the specs:
AMD Turion 64 X2
1 GB Ram
ATI Radeon 1100 Graphics
60GB Hard drive (was 120, but I'm using spare drive to test)
Atheros Wireless G
Bluetooth
Built in webcam (1.3 mp)
CD/DVD Burner 8x

I actually tried to use the Kalyway install, but was quickly told that it was the wrong version heh. I figured it out on my own when it would just hang on install when I got the apple logo.

In the process of imagining the Zephyroth install magically appearing in front of me and trying it. I will post captures later.

Alright, got it installed, but im getting the freezing Apple logo on boot (thats with the dvd in, but not pressing anything on boot) with the swirly lights thing going round and round before i freeze up. I only have about an hour or 2 a day to throw at this thing, so I'll keep trying. If I dont have the dvd in on boot, i get the blinking cursor forever

Of course, if anyone wants, I'll trade my lappie for a quad core and a mobo (gigabyte maybe) hehe

Just before you get to the screen turning grey, press and hold down F8. Then press -v and hit enter when you see your HDD displayed in a list. This may or may not help you troubleshoot the problem. You can also try booting by pressing -f having also pressed F8 as before and see if you get to the desktop.
