I have a Medion MIM2050 laptop and i am wondering if i can OSx86 on it? CPU is a Celeron M 1.4GHz processor. (MMX, SSE, SSE2, 32KB L1, 512KB L2) 640 megs of ram in it. (pc-2700 sodims) Video is an Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller with 32 to 64 meg auto allocation. Bios is a Insyde Software MobilePRO BIOS Version 4.00.00. Audio happens to be a Realtek AC97 Audio. The mainboard according to CPUID is a Montara-GML FAB-2. According to Windows, the wireless adapter is a Prism 802.11g. (PCI\VEN_1260&DEV_3886&SUBSYS_003617CF&REV_01\4&16793A72&0&08F0) Lan is a VIA VT6105 Rhine III
I don't use the modem so there is no driver installed on it. The hard drive is a 40GB
So, any information that could help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Not 100% sure on this one, I am sure it could be got going, however the crunch with laptops in whether the onboard screen can be got to work and if it can, can you get resolution change with NVInject kext or Natit. Certainly could be fun finding out. I would start with 10.4.9 or 10.4.10 for SSE2 uphuck DVD download unless you already have a download. But I would rule out anything before 10.4.8. Sound should not be too much of a problem & I am sure lan would be possible, hell maybe even wireless. I say give it a shot and let us know!

well, found the file for the uphuck 10.4.9 Intel x86 install dvd v1.4i r2 - bizkut now what i can do is load the other 40gb i have into a usb external case and load the iso into a virtual dvd drive. then from there what should i do? it's been awhile since i handed you the instructions on how to get os x running on an intel machine.

When you download the iso, you can burn it to a DVD using toast or disk utility or use a hard disk as your virtual DVD. You can then set your CD drive (or virtual DVD) as your boot drive in your bios and boot from the cd and perform the installation as normal. Your destination drive needs to be set as Master boot record. You can partition with disk utility on your DVD from the utilities menu when booted from the DVD.

Well, i have 7 hours to go before i can do anything with the ISO. Until then maybe i will play some games on my pc laptop before i go ahead and plunge into the world of the Macbooks. After then, i will keep you posted. Thanks again.

ok, well, i burned the ISO, and i put in a new hard drive. here is the situation, i get the apple logo with the spinnging icon, then i get another icon on top of the apple logo. Ok, reboot the machine, and i thought maybe i have to force the laptop hard drive into master mode. No jumper settings for that for a WD drive. so i set it to cable select. Then i let it boot up in verbose mode so i can see what i'm running into.

well, i got it to boot and install from the internal dvd drive. now after the instalation was complete, i'm waiting for the hard drive to boot. i booted from the hard drive in verbose mode and i have been waiting for 10 min with this screen.
