Go here and download this System Preferences Startup/Shutdown sound panel, then go here and drop this startup sound aif file into the startup window to get the startup sound on your Hackintosh. Note: You only get the sound when you reach the desktop!  |

The startup sound works on PPC too.
It's funny to hear my system quote Futurama when it loads and shuts down.
Bender on startup, Lucy Lui-bot on shutdown.
