Apple have released the source for 10.4.9, so there is a new kernel at you know where with decrypts built-in. Haven't tested it myself.

I will probably leave it for a while, let any bugs get ironed out first. I've got 8.9.1 working with the special kext anyhow so no rush here.

Okay I figured 4 weeks was long enough. I finally downloaded a new kernel and installed it in one of my desktops, the other is still on 10.4.8.
I've gone for the 'SSE3 only' kernel as I have support for NX bit, HPET & SSSE3(thats not a typo) :-), this gives me working sleep and functional 64bit execution. So far its passed all the tests-
boot halt reboot sleep/resume etc...
Life is easier away from the cutting edge.
