1.42 FW800 on Leotard 10.5.1 2GB RAM OEM 9000 Pro A 6600GT is on its way. I can't wait to mess with it and see what I can do for cooling. I saw a Gainward PowerPack!Ultra/1960 XP with a waterblock on it, but I couldn't identify the block. The layout is clearly different than most others. It looks like the HSI is directly below the GPU. Maybe it is the Golden Sample Goes Like Hell. That's what the description said. I'm not too good at IDing cards by layout. From the looks of it, I might be able to rotate a waterblock like this and use angled fittings to make it work on a normal 6600GT. We'll see. Too bad Stasis isn't around anymore. The regular 1960 XP looks like most other 6600GTs as far as the diagnonal HSI position.

Trunk,
6600 GT's go well in MDD's, Gotoh over at Nvinject is bit of a whizz with the PPC roms for these. You will have to put a 128 kb chip on it to get it going in your PPC mac. Give Gotoh a shout, he will tell you what you need to know.

Thanks. I'll definitely holler at Gotoh about the ROM. I've seen a lot of posts over at TME. My friend's father is doing the chip for me. He does that stuff for a living. I figure, if I did it, it would wind up like a glob of metal. Is there something about the 6 series cards that makes them particularly hard to modify the ROM? I always see references of having the ROM done for you. I did this too. I don't know if I set it up properly. The results were the same with anisotropy at 1 and 4 (I saw most people had it at 4 in the midrange benchmark thread at SD).

I think on 6600 GT's, each manufacturers cards have different memory settings. This is not a card I messed with on PPC's, did many others though and I actually used one for as while (but I did not flash that particular card - just borrowed) in a MDD I had!
