This may have been brought up before and i really don't feel like hunting down this thread in the strangedogs forums or here, so i am going to ask here.
I need to know which brand of 7800 is good to flash for a mac. IE XFX, Asus, MSI, BFG.....
Also, can i use any brand extension? IE GS, GT, GTX.....
Thanks for any info regarding this.

Best with quietest fan is XFX 7800GS 256. However it must say G70 on the label on the back, NOT G71. So you are going to need to physically need to hold the box in your hand before you buy. XFX have been kind here and there is a plastic bubble on the back of the box that lets you see the back of the card. www.motherboards.org/reviews/hardware/1582_2.htmlwww.aqua-mac.com/XFX7800GS

ok, cool. i was reading some info on the strangedogs site about needing a patch for these cards.something to do with the ripple effect in dashboard? and it having to be a GT card? also, where can i find a dual dvi card? not dual link, but just 2 dvi connections?

The only Dual DVI card that exists is the Gainward 2 slot 7800GS 512 (but only 256 will be seen). Once again it must be 7800GS not 7800GS+ as once again this is G70 v G71. The ripple effect works in 10.4.9 outa the box. But still nice to use the GT openGL engine. I did a replacement NVDAResman kext to fix this. www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=30502

Good Luck!
Don't forget to check first if it has the G70 chip, the label on the back should tell all.
