Ok, tried to remove Front Row because i really don't use it, got slightly screwed up in the process, not a problem. I backed up all my files, and performed a "nuke and pave" (format/reinstall). Ok, now i was able to set up my dual 80's and a striped raid with 157 gig free. Installed Tiger 10.4.3 and got some updates. Not all of them showed up. Odd if you ask me but ok. I tried to do some more updates but the software update page says that there is no more updates for me. I'm stuck on 10.4.3 with no security updates and such. Ok fine, i went to the apple site, downloaded the 10.4.7 combo update for PPC and tried to run it. Now when it gets to the drive selection area, this is what it has to say. "You cannot install Mac OS X Update Combined (PowerPC) on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." WTF!!! how does an HFS+ raid not meet the requirements??? So, any info on this would be nice. If i have to nuke and pave again, so be it, but this is just a little *%%^ up!!

Hi JJ, Can you still find 10.4.6 on the Apple downloads page, you could give that a shot. Seems very strange to me! Should be here: www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/index2.html If not, boot to an external drive if you have one & completely re setup your drives for Raid.

Well i could have sworn i had a second post on here relating to this but i guess not. Anyways, yesterday i tried the server and client ppc updates. (just to be sure) and both of them nothing. I even tried the separate deltas with the same outcome. Nothing. Now i don't know if it's the way that the raid was set up, or my OS disc or whichever, but this is complete and utter BS. As for booting from an external drive, well, i still need to get one of those. EDIT just tried the 10.4.6 like you stated and now that i have ripped apart my raid, it is saying that all my drives are not meeting requirements. Just like the others said with the raid. What the h*ll is going on?

Well, i found out the problem. Wasn't the raid drives, wasn't the hard drives period. It was my 10.4.3 installation DVD. For some odd reason it was corrupted. So i went and dug out my old rage 128 pro because the 6200 won't boot with 10.4.0. Found my old 10.4.0 DVD hybrid, put that in, made a raid setup. Single use, no glitches. Then installed Tiger. After all set up, went to the update manager. Low and behold i found 10 updates including 10.4.7 combo. So i am going to throw away that other dvd i have and wait for Leopard to come out and purchase that. Then i shouldn't have any more booting problems. At least the video card will be happy.
Oh, FYI. Booting before with the regular drives used to take about 40 - 50 seconds. Now with the raid setup with 256k backside, it takes 15 seconds to completly load Tiger.
