aquamac.... did reddragon take the 1.4 sonnet?.... if not....would it fit in a QS2002(933)?... is it clockable/advisable? L3 cache? also i need a budget graphics card.... thought maybe u might have something lying around... wanna upgrade as cheaply as possible.(the machine only cost me a ton)... single processors seem as fast as duals in most cases?

Koyaanisquati, I'm afraid I posted the 1.4 sonnet to Red Dragon yesterday. I do still have a 1.2 sonnet, but it is for a 100 system bus, & although it would phisically fit in your Quicksilver, I dont think it would work so well at 1596 which is where it would be on a 133 bus. The sonnet ST4's of this type do not have jumpers either.
However on the Graphics card front there are a few possibilities, I have a very nice 6800GT that has been tested in a Quicksilver & works nicely-this has arti's DVI patch to get both DVI/VGA working (If you are interested I can send you a picture). The X800 cards are not reliable in the QS, so that rules them out. I have a 9600XT out of my G5, but this may/may not work in a QS seems some people say they work some don't. For prices or if you are interested in anything PM me, in the mean time I'll have a rumage through my drawers if you will pardon the expression.
Regards aquamac

Regards aquamac Hi, I have a 9600 dual DVI (not XT) in my QS 2002 pulled from my G5 Dual 2.0 (Late2004), . And work perfect...just tape pins 3 and 11.

Hi marcelog4 & welcome to the aquamac forums!
I have tried the 9600XT in my Digital Audio & the computer just does not see it at all, this is with pins 3 & 11 taped, however the card works fine in MDD's & G5. The same goes for the X800 range. You may be alright if you have the 2002 range Quicksilver, but I can't be sure about this. I note that ATI have dropped support on the 9600 PC/Mac card in Digital Audio/Quicksilver as many people have reported the same problems as me. Seems that people may be lucky or not.
Regards Steve
