Not too sure if this is the right place to post, but it seems to be the proper one. What this consists of is someone really bored and making a strictly PC only keyboard work on a mac. Why you ask? well, i got sick and tired of using a $70 (CND) keyboard just as a USB hub. I looked online and found next to no one doing the same thing i did, so i went ahead and did it anyways. First of all, i plugged it in and under 10.4.6 system profiler, it sees it automatically as a Logitech G15 keyboard. Next battle i had to do was to change the Windows key and the ALT key so that they would work right in OS X. In the mouse/Keyboard settings, i was able to switch the command and option keys so that they work normally as if this were a true mac keyboard. That problem fixed, onto the next. From there i proceeded to pop off the Windows and ALT keys and switch them so that if anyone were to use this keyboard (mainly me) they would notice that they keys are in the right place for a mac. Now the only thing to figure out is how to get the media keys to work on this keyboard. If anyone has any suggestions or other input, please feel free to write and post. I will be posting pictures as soon as i can with what i have done to this.

Hi JJ, How you doin! Sounds like an interesting mod, is this the keyboard in question? Sure would be good to get those media keys going! I guess you already checked Logitechs support page.

yep, checked them, nothing they can do. all they have is support for 2000, XP, and XP 64 Yeah, that's the keyboard in question. Oh, found out some bad news about the keyboard, be aware that in 3 months time, the paint on the keys will run off. Apparently there are some forums out there that have people ranting and raving about it.

You mean like, the keys are painted? That's weird, I've heard of the letters/numbers wearing off before, in fact it often happens after a few years, but not after months!
I checked out the drivers too, no dice. This is the age old mac problem, many manufacturers really cannot be bothered to release drivers for macs. Some of the Logitec mice are the same, they work, but the back/forewards buttons do not work.
PS Nice Avatar! ;D

yes, the keys are painted. some sort of cheap black paint overtop of clear buttons. users.bigpond.net.au/pyros/g15_2.jpgthe avatar is a pic of me. goes to show that some of us don't like to show our faces to the public. oh, just a reminder, if you look at your front page, the link you have for me, well, iWeb kinda jibbed that one. after all of that, it's no longer an htm file, it's now an html file extention
