I have a Geforce2 MX 400 card AGP, but i can't flash it. What can i do about this?
Chip name=GeForce2 MX 400 Vendor ID=10DE Device ID=0110H ID, devcode (55,AA)
Other than swapping out the physical rom, is there anything else i can do, or just leave it as a normal PC card?

Ok, am in the flasher right now (on a different comp). Using nvflash 4.46 and this is the errors i am getting
NVIDIA Flash ROM utility Version 04.46 Chip name=GeForce2 MX/MX 400, Vendor ID=10DE, Device ID=0110 Opened msidt64.rom successfully. Checking for supported EEPROM... EEPROM man.ID,devcode (55,AA) : Unknown
ERROR: Supported EEPROM not found
Now i have 5 different roms to figure out, so i will see if they all say the same thing
EDIT I have tried all 5 roms from the mac elite wiki, and they load, but i am still getting an EEPROM error.
I am using the -4 -5 -6 strings if that helps

I even tried all the roms located here and i am still getting the same error codes. when i boot the pc, the initial vga bios i see says this... NVIDIA GeForce2 MX-400 VGA BIOS Version 3.11.01.44.00 Copyright (C) 1996-2001 NVIDIA Corp. 64.0MB RAM

Try 4.28 nvflash, use -protectoff to prevent eeprom lock. -e erase eeprom than flash with proper one. This worked for me.

Ok, now which rom would be the proper one? Since i would be flashing blindly. No extra PCI card used

Still getting the same error messages with the 4.28 flasher. I type in nvflash -r -e (romname) *using the 1075 twinview rom from MEW* i am still getting the EEPROM error message. NVIDIA Flash ROM utility Version 04.28 Chip name=GeForce2 MX/MX 400, Vendor ID=10DE, Device ID=0110 Checking for supported EEPROM... EEPROM man.ID,devcode (55,AA) : Unknown ERROR: Supported EEPROM not found

Ok, this is frustrating. Using the latest nvflash 5.100.***
12 roms to go through and i am still getting the EEPROM error
Identifying EEPROM... EEPROM ID (55,00AA) : Unknown
ERROR: Supported EEPROM not found.
using the strings -r -5 -6 and it's not flashing

OK, 12 roms later and i am getting mad.
steps one: nvflash -r -5 -6 (romname) = eeprom error steps two: nvflash -5 -6 (romname) = eeprom error steps three: nvflash (romname) = GPU mismatch or PCI subsystem ID mismatch
and i can't backup the original rom since it comes up with the eeprom error also
Listing the card showed this...
NVIDIA display adapters present in system: <0> GeForce2 MX/MX 400 (10DE,0110,0000,0000) H:--:NRM B:01,AGP,D:00,F:00

hi aqua hi reddragg0n, i empirically flash vga with flasher that came up in time the card was produced respectively have been sold. Second i think there are specific routine for specific ROM. BTW i flashed a GF2 MX400 with 4.28 I usually flashed my 7800gs with 5.22 works fine but for fx5200 and back issues won't.

This GF has DVI? If so, it's main problem. Even if you'll flash it, it won't work. Only these with single VGA output are flashable IIRC. BTW, I always use this string to flash with nvf: nvflash -4 -5 -6 -j (romname) You can try eraseeeprom first, like rubberduck said.
