Quadro FX 4800 Mac Edition Question...

Hi ...long time no see aquamac!

As I heard of the new cuda gpu acceleration functions of the upcoming Adobe CS5 I am thinking to buy a Quadro FX 4800 Mac or GForce 285 GTX...

Can anyone confirm that the Nvidia Quadro FX 4800 Mac is working right out of the box with a hackintosh? Do you think a 285 GTX will be able to use the acceleration functions under OSX?

I know it is hard to figure out - till CS5 is released...
But I can't wait to see the changes in performance and speed in video edeting...

GTX285 should be better then FX 4800. Why? Because GTX285 has 1 teraflop and 240 CUDA cores, FX has 192 CUDA cores and around 700 gigaflop. CUDA works on OSX, I'v tested on my GTX275 1792 and it works, the only problem with my card is that nvenabler doesn't fully recognize my card it show unknown card by nvidia 1792 MB and some application like octane render doesn't work, but CUDA benchmark like nbody and others works so I can confirm that CUDA works on hackintosh. Hope someone one update nvenabler e to support GTX275 with 1792 MB not only 896 MB. Also Adobe said that Fermi will be supported in future updates of CS5.

I can confirm that the PC version of the Quadro FX 4800 works in a Hackintosh, with no tweaking. Haven't tried the DisplayPort jacks, but the DVI definitely works. Recognizes it native under Chameleon RC5.

The PC Quadro Fx 4800 natively works in hackintosh with full acceleration QE/CI? Can you please tell me how, I've been at this for for months now.
