So, Could someone help me givin' the procedure instructions about flashing the Gainward Bliss? I would use it in a Quicksilver... Thank you in advance Best Regards Herno

Hello and Welcome! First question is do you have access to a PC with a floppy drive and an AGP slot?

A floppy drive is needed to flash the video cards for Mac. Floppies hold the software like NVflash and the rom needed for the flash to work. As described here for flashing a 6800 video card. Rom downloads.NVflash.

You must use these roms to flash the Gainward 512 7800 GS. I have not released them before. The ones from strangedogs are not for the Gainward & will kill it!!!!!! rapidshare.com/files/243420778/Gainward_Roms.zipCheck what size rom chip your card has. If it is a 128 kb chip, then use that rom as it is faster. If it is only 64 kb - use that size. Under no circumstances use a 128 kb rom on a 64 kb chip - you will kill your card and the only way out is to solder on a new chip. You will find 3 64 kb roms and 3 128 kb roms in the download. The 3x 64 kb roms are the same as each other but will report differently in system profiler as to what the card is - so if you want to have a Quadro FX 4500 reported in system profiler - use that one and so forth.

This must be done in a PC with an AGP slot Use nvflash to determine the size of your rom chip. Make a windows startup floppy disk then drop nvflash onto it, then boot with the disk (it can be a USB floppy - don't forget to alter your bios to boot from it. When you reach the boot prompt, type: nvflash -i This should give you information about your rom chip. You can save your existing rom by typing nvflash -b save.rom There is some other useful information here at the bottom of the page.
