Okay update on my problem:
Some how I can get to the Darwin screen again (where you can choose which OS you want to boot), but now my USB keyboard and mouse don't work. Any work around for this? Thanks!

Is your mouse only not working in OSX or is there a problem with windows too?

perhaps your bios has been reset?
check all usb settings in bios and make sure they are on, then boot again.

I need some help here. I have p5q deluxe motherboard and a Quadro FX1700. I am running iPC 10.5.6 and just updated to 10.5.7. I cannot get this FX 1700 to work properly. These instructions here just give me some identification of the video card in system profiler, I dont think its doing anything. When I use other display drivers, like NVDARasman It boot but screen blanks. As I read here I am wondering if that has something to do with the NVCAP settings or something.
Has anyone had any luck with the Quadro FX 1700 and could someone recommend a card with equal performance value as the FX 1700 that WILL work in OSX86. I do video editing and light 3D.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Have 9800gt and I find that all that is needed is video injection with dsdt. No need for anything else. This works fine in Leopard 10.5.8 and the Snow Leopard. Hi! Can You please elaborate on this some more? I'm trying to make GTX285 work on 10.5.8 (iDeneb v1.6) and when I use GFX string in the first post of this thread I can't get my machine to boot. What tools I need to use to make video injection with dsdt? I know how to get DSDT.aml or DSDT.sdl files if that helps. I use Chameleon v2 RC1 as boot loader if that's of any significance.

I did use NVCAP maker with a copy of my video bios to get NVCAP data. Hi Aqua First of all, GREAT JOB man!! Even after going through 22 pages of exhaustive posts and more than 30 attempts to re-install from scratch, I am still not able to get my rig working I have tried installing iDeneb 10.5.6 and iAtkos 7 (10.5.7) on the following configuration: Intel E7200 2.53 GHz proc Intel DG33FB Mobo 2x1GB 800 MHz RAM XFX Geforce 9600 512MB Graphic card (Model #: PVT-96G-YNF3) (Device ID = 0x062210de) PS2 KB USB Mouse IDE DVD-Writer Samsung Syncmaster 732NW Both 10.5.6 and 10.5.7 get installed with Vanilla Kernel. Audio doesnt work with 10.5.6 even after installing the kexts but it works in 10.5.7. DVD Drive doesnt work in either of them. With the Vanilla installation the resolutions is fixed at 1024*768 and I do not have an option to change any of these settings. QE/CI obviously dont work. I have tried everything except for flashing my ROM but after making the following changes, all I get is a black screen either with a flashing power LED of the Monitor or a stable one. If I only add my device ID to NVDANV50Hal and NVDAResman without adding the EFI string gives me a black screen with the blinking light. (There are no NVinjext/Natit/NVKush files in the extension folder) If I add the EFI string to com.apple.boot.plist, on reboot I get a black screen but with a stable light. This is irrespective of if it being done using OSx86Tools or with the procedure mentioned by you in the posts above. This is the case irrespective of whether the above mentioned kexts have been modified or not. I read somewhere that you need to disconnect the monitor cable when it is loading the graphics after making the changes and reconnect it to get this working, but it didnt in my case! When I try to extract the VGA ROM using the NVFlash utility in Windows>Command (or cmd), I get an error message as "No NVIDIA display adapters found". I happened to get a ROM of the XFX 9600 GT from www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/files/XFX.9600GT.512.080303.bin and the NVCAP string for that is 04000000000003000c0000000000000700000000. Since for the same configuration and chipset, XFX has multiple models, I somehow feel that the downloaded ROM is not the correct one for my card. I only have a DVI and an HDMI connector on my card whereas I have seen 2 DVI+HDMI or 1VGA+1DVI+1HDMI connections or similar cards - is this why my thingy is not working?? Would appreciate if you can throw some light on this and help me with these issues. Thanks & Regards, Gyanesh P.S: Will try to post the PCI string at the earliest. Attachments:

gyanesh,
Welcome to aquamac forums. Did you try connecting the display to the HDMI with the appropriate adapter. I am wondering if the picture is being output to this. A number of people have reported problems with this card, maybe the reason is because of the non std card layout. Do you have another card you can try with Dual DVI. It is always easier if you have similar layout hardware to Apple's original cards. Is your HDMI the first port (eg closest to the motherboard?)

Yes the HDMI is closer to the motherboard. I recently replaced my brand new ATI 4670 HD for this card. So I do not have access to a different card, unless I buy another one again!

Can the secondary connector, DVI, be activated as well?

When trying to extract the rom, I take it you have the latest version of NVFlash installed on a windows startup floppy? Odd that it would give that message. NVFlash cannot be run from within windows and must be used in DOS. It may be worth getting a HDMI to DVI adapter, they are pretty cheap to test the HDMI port. Instructions for saving your rom are here at the bottom of the page. I suspect the rom you have is from a dual DVI card and the NVCAP may be the problem, to prove if that is the case, saving your rom would be helpful. Is it possible to borrow another card from somewhere?

I finally managed to extract my ROM and get the NVCAP for it, but no luck with a standby card I think I will have to buy one again if this doesnt work I also tried understanding the NVCAP for channels (but couldnt understand much, I must say ) and modified it to make the other ports get the output - similar to this: www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=175003&view=findpost&p=1223068But it doesnt work.. Any clue??
