That is great news, I will certainly study this plist and may change some of the mobile input lists that I put up. Thanks a lot for sharing this with us!

luraschi8,
Have you made sure you don't have any injectors in your System/Contents/Extensions folder, such as NVInject.kext, NVDarwin.kext or NVKush.kext? You do not have to go back to 10.5.7, 10.5.8 should be fine but don't overwrite the drivers with my version 2 ones as they are only for 10.5.5! If you install them on 6 and 7 they will stop QE & CI from working properly.I take it that you have a DSDT.aml file in your root drive. You may want to delete it if you have as that can sometimes stop QE & CI working, then make a fresh one with DSDT Patcher GUI.

Hello!
I have read all 21 pages of this and unfortunately I still have no QE or CI support. I have installed no drivers. Just running the default drivers in 10.5.8. I installed through iAtkos v7 and I only chose one "non-default" choice of OLD ACPI/ACPI FIX to get my motherboard past the buffers error.
I did the EFI string thing from EFI studio and entered the 9800GT string. I get full resolution and everything is snappy. But NO QE or CI.
Here are my specs:
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT DDL:
Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT DDL Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0614 Revision ID: 0x00a2 ROM Revision: 3172a Displays: DELL E248WFP: Resolution: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-Bit Color Core Image: Software Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported Display Connector: Status: No Display Connected
I tried putting my device ID in NVDANV50Hal.kext. This didn't change anything. Tried several different strings and get full resolution on many but no QE/CI. I have tried any injectors or any other type of kexts or drivers.
Could the iAtkos install somehow keep it from working? Where do I even look?
Edit: Reinstalled whole system with iDeneb v1.5. Same setup just changed ACPI/APIC drivers to get past buffer. Installed EFI Strings by post 1. I get full resolution, ability to change resolutions. Picture is perfect but NO QE/CI. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Help!
Edit 2: I put an 8800GT in. Same deal. I am now convinced it has to do with my motherboard or the change in ACPI extensions somehow. I see no other alternative. I can not get QE/CI with anything! Ugh.
Aquamac what do you think?
Thanks in advance,
Brad

Parscale, forgetting GFX strings for a moment, have you tried an injector such as NVDarwin.kext in your Extensions folder. Try installing it with Kexthelper b7

Aquamac, Thank you for your help. I installed the newest NVdarwin.kext I could find. I made no other changes to the system. I left the string in the Boot.plist. On reboot, nothing changed. Same resolutions, no QE/CI.
Here is my current Graphics/Display:
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT:
Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0611 Revision ID: 0x00a2 ROM Revision: 3172a Displays: DELL E248WFP: Resolution: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-Bit Color Core Image: Software Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported SyncMaster: Resolution: 1600 x 900 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-Bit Color Core Image: Software Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported
I did an xBench test and noticed I get no OpenGL. Is that from the lack of QE?

Have 9800gt and I find that all that is needed is video injection with dsdt. No need for anything else. This works fine in Leopard 10.5.8 and the Snow Leopard. NVidia certainly a lot easier than ATI to setup.(replaced the 2600xt in my sig, had to for the SNOW!!)

What driver did you use for injection?

heylo!
i have an ASUS EN-8400-GS Silent 512MB PCIe card that i'm trying to get up to full speed with a Leo4All 10.5.2 setup.
i tried using Punked92's 3.0 Beta installer using NVinject 512 and that works to a degree though no QE/CI is detected. i have NVkush installed now, but with similar results and it only shows 256 MB being recognized.
any help would be great. thanx!

I think you need a later version of OSX to get support for your card to work, but I cannot remember which one - 10.5.5 I think

So, I got my eVGA GTS 250 512mb finally working using the tutorial here, but without QE support. And the main reason I dualbooted OS X was to use iMovie, which won't work w/o the QE Quartz Extreme thing. I'm running iDeneb 1.5...
Help is awesome.

Hello! I've got the fix to work on my machine, but now my hard drive won't boot correctly. It will say it is a non-system disk. I can't even boot to Vista. For some reason when I pop the iPC disc in without hitting enter to boot the dvd, I can load OSX with no problems. Is there a way I can fix this without having to reinstall OSX again? Thanks is advance!
I have 2 partitions on a 350GB HD. 200GB for Vista Business. 100GB for iPC OSX.
