Hi everyone. I want to know if there are shops who does modding services? i basically want a PC on a mac pro case. i want it to be very sleek and clean, no fancy lighting etc. If any of you guys can make me one or know anyone who can do the job please let me know. i tried contacting mnpctech.com but they said they arent doing any custom mods right now. i couldnt find landh either..
i will produce all the parts. i already have the case, i can order the drive bays and other internal components. il be the one to get the motherboard, graphics card and any other PC parts.
the specifications i want would be;
-atleast an i7 920 and up -atleast 6gb and up and 1333mhz and up -ATI 5970 radeon graphics card
i havent ordered the parts yet because the one whos making the mod for me will be the one to decide which motherboard i would get. i tried to do the measurement myself and since i want the drive bay to be hot swappable, a mATX motherboard is the only size that will fit unless you guys can fit a standard ATX with the hard drive bays still on it.
also, the front ports has to work, everything can be USB and the power button has to be original or modded as long as it turns on.
the back panel can be modded depending on the motherboard backplate as long as it looks really clean.
internals should be clean to with the original mac pro case internal components. fan can be changed to any as long as its not fancy (no lighting and such)
ived seen alot of mods out here and would really love to have one for myself, the difference would be its mainly going to be running on windows.
i hope the one whos gonna be helping me is trusted. i would have to ask the moderators before committing to anyone whos interested on building one for me.

Yep I can do this, only catch is I won't be able to put osX on it as it contravenes the Apple end user licence.

Oh i see. im based in New York. The firewire at the front panel shouldnt be a problem for me since i always plug firewire ports at the back which i prefer to. the front panel can be all USB actually. ived modded some computers before but the problem is, this mac pro case is kinda scary to start with.
I believe i the h3rd and 4th hard drive bays will fit as long as its an mATX motherboard?

remove the apple mobo supports. then get the atx mobo screws and screw these through the motherboard onto your now loose apple mobo supports. place mobo in situ when you have desired position, use glue/jb weld/adhesive to fix new support positions! voila

absolutely.. get a cheap/free pc case.. and that will work fine. make sure you've got a bit of clearance as if you decide to fit a more powerful CPU fan which you may well need, sometimes the fittings require a bracket on the back of the motherboard any more advice and we will have to discuss a consultancy arrangement

ok so i finally decided to give it a go. ived done tons of research and i hope i dont make a mistake. if anyone has anything against on what i thought on the mod please let me know as i really dont know if its gonna come up good. first is the back panel. i dont know if its gonna work but i bought a micro atx lian li motherboard tray which is this; lian li matx motherboard tray by lawlaw8, on Flickr its a mATX motherboard tray since i plan to put a mATX motherboard. this way i get to keep 4 hard drive caddies at the top. Since this mobo tray already have a back panel, all i have to do is to cut the back panel of the actual case and replace it with this tray. If the mounting becomes successful then i have a mATX mac pro case! as of the hard drive caddies, ived seen mac pro modders out here modding the actual hot swappable hard drive that came with the mac pro case(sorry i really dont know what its called) but doing it is just too complicated in my case. i was about to not make it hotswappable at all and just cover my hard drives with those caddies but i stumbled into these and saw a possibility. Adapter Kit by lawlaw8, on Flickr its an Adapter Kit to Mount 2.5" SATA HDD in 3.5" Drive Bay with SATA Adapter - Startech, i only bought one since im still gonna try if itl work well on the caddies with a hard drive on it. so right now, i dont have any problems with the backpanel and the hard drive caddies. im just gonna have to wait for the items and do the modding and hope it turns out great. right now what im thinking is how im gonna deal with the front panel. ived seen others used a sata to usb something like that. theres even a map on how to connect the wires. doing this is my weakness as ived already tried to skip the hard drive caddie mod. is there someone who can help me deal with the front panel? i want the original power switch to work as it should and of course the ports as well. basically, i want a mac pro front panel to atx motherboard. if i remember it right, i think i saw one who was selling a modded version already. just need to plug it to the mobo. i just couldnt find it.. please help. any comments would be welcome and greatly appreciated. thanks in advance to everyone who would like to help.
