Hi guys,
I'm having trouble with this board, ( No upgrade as ASRock promised ).
My troubles are,
I can only boot 1 core, as I've read something about the DSDT in the bios needs fixed, though I'm not capable of doing it.
I've also ran into a snag with the ALC888 not working, I've tried a few things, but none was successful.
Any thoughts is welcome, this board is really fast even with 1 core, everything is working out of box, but sound. Board link Here

Though I have already looked at that site, and have replied to it. ( waiting to hear back )
as My bios is not listed.
I'm unsure if My sound is not working due to the ICH 10, though I'm stuck at this point, There is a few other things I'm going to try for the sound, though unsure if it will work.

I think it may be a waiting game until someone smart enough finds the time to releases the fixed BIOS. Sorry, I can be of no more help.

I got my ALC888 working on the P43 chipset with ICH10.

Hi guys,
It's been awhile since I had this problem & I forget what I did to fix it?
I'm running vanilla kernel, had the Macpro SMBios installed with the stock APCIplatform.kext
After I updated to 10.5.5 now I have problems. I included a Pic. showing the problem.

Hi originalmacnut, could u explain how did u get to install correctly on this board? I got the same mobo with a Q6600, 7200GS gpu, 2GB, SATA HD and IDE DVD. I've tried a few "distros" (iDeneb, Jas, etc.) and I can install but it won't boot once installed. Did u install with the retail DVD? what method did u use? I appreciate any help as I'm building this to use Logic in my home studio, thx!

If you flash with my Bios, you should be fine no matter what install you use.
I have it listed in the downloads.
But my install method, I used the Boot-132 cd, then used my retail leopard disc.
Then installed Chameleon_DFE_for_Hard_Disk and put the drivers into the extra\extensions I needed.
Easy updating with the -v -f after they was installed.
This all was done after I had modded my Bios though, as I couldn't boot or install with out the cpus=1 flag.
Hope that helps, if you need I can up the driver you need for this MB, as the regualar driver for the PS2 keyboard doesn't work with the stock AppleACPIPLATFORM.kext

Thank you very much, I'm sorry I didn't reply before but just yesterday I had the time to work on this. I tried the Boot-132 method but couldn't make it work, I think it was related to not having a SATA DVD Drive, but the Jas 10.5.4 DVD worked instantly. The only thing left is the GPU, I'm still struggling to make it work correctly with EFI Studio. Again thank you very much!

So I have had more time to play around and I'm trying to install using the Boot 132 method. I managed to install but after updating to 10.5.5 (before installing chameleon) I'm not able to boot again with the cd. So I'm back here asking for help. I don't know which are the necessary kexts for this mobo to boot leo, it's been only trial and error so far, do you know exactly which ones they are?? I'm not talking about sound ethernet or gfx, as I'm planning to install these afterwards, thx again!

Can you boot with -v? I can make a package of the drives needed.
Did you remove the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext or have the disabler installed?
Also, you might need to boot with -v -F. I had to do this also when I updated, as It would no longer boot on my machine either.

Ok I've tried a lot of stuff to get this working to no avail (I had done all of the above). I can only boot into safe mode and as soon as I put an EFI string with EFIStudio I get a blue screen. If you could make a package with the kexts you used I would be grateful.

So after a while with a lot of stuff to do I put my hands back to work on this. It turns out that all the problems I had were related to my gpu. I always had the tv-out output connected while booting, as soon as I disconnected it everything went fine.
Doing some research I found out that the tv-out isn't working on Leopard for any Nvidia card. I really wish it would, because I use it lot to watch movies, well that and the digital audio output are the only things missing in my now otherwise perfect OS X system, thx for your help!

I got same board p43r1600Twins wifi, I donwloaded those files but I don't know how to make them do sounds. could anyone make me step by step tutorial? I got Leporad Jas 10.5.4. all working fine but sound
