Hi aquamac. first of all thanx a lot for this website you are doing an awesome job. i bought this card nvidia gts 250 512mb few days before and it's my first nvidia card. I had always been an ATI guy i was using HD3650 earlier and to make that card working i used to have only one installation package just install that package and done. but with nvidia there's so much confusion. so many things to install efi string, nvinject, nvkush and many more i don't even know what these things are. that's why i hope that you'll give me the perfect driver for this card. with step by step installation instructions. thanks a lot in advance. and sorry for my english.... i know it's very poor

Hello Discodancer, and welcome, To make the GTS 250 work on a hackintosh you really only need GFX strings, all the drivers are included in OS X. You do not say if you are on Leo or Snow Leo, but I will presume you are on Leopard. Go here: aquamac.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hack1&action=display&thread=509and follow the instructions. There is already a download for your card, but you need to find the PCIe address for your card. You can do that while still booted from your ATI card. It is the location path to the graphics card you are looking for. You need to follow the instructions to edit your com.apple.boot.plist. When you have done all that, you need to make sure you delete nvinject, nvkush etc from your System/Library/Extensions folder or extra folder, depending where you put it. Good Luck.

thanks aqua for the solution it worked. but every time when i run opengl extension viewer test. it shows failed on 3.0 is this affect system performance? bcz i notice lil lag when using dock and the animations are also not as smooth as it was with ATI HD 3650. and one more thing i would like to know is will this solution work for snow leo also? bcz i'm downloading the snow leo dvd and i will give it a chance when it completes downloading. thanks.

Well Done, This will certainly work for Snow Leopard, you can just copy your com.apple.boot.plist straight to Snow and repair permissions with disk utility!

Thanks but what about the openGL problem?

I have not come across that problem. From OpenGL Viewer, everything seems to be working OK. Your system will fail on 3.0 as your card does not support it!

Hi, If you have a real Mac Pro, you can use the card only if you do the following: 1. Leave a real Mac graphics card in the first slot with your windows GTS 250 card in slot 2 2. Before fitting the card, you need to download the NVInject.kext (specially made for your GTS 250) and install with kexthelperb7. Attachments:

This appeared after installing NVinject.kext through Kext Helper b7; I re-replaced com.apple.Boot.plist (i.e., I added the original file) before installing NVinject.kext. At the moment, the system profiler is recognizing the 7300GT card in Slot-1 (although I'd like it to recognize the GTS 250 card in Slot-2) -- yet the VRAM (Total) is 0 MB.
This is a MacPro1,1.

I connected the GTS 250 to the DVD-drive pin and it is powered (in Slot-2); but I received a message stating that the card is not running at full power, and the card is still not being recognized beyond the label "display".
