EVGA have a download up for GTX 285 Drivers for the Mac Pro. These I have tested in a hackie with GTX 280 and they work faster than the previous GTX 200 drivers that come with the Quadro card. These official drivers will only install on a MacPro3,1 or MacPro4,1. With the download below, I have extended this to a MacPro1,1 and MacPro2,1 as I have mine reporting as a MacPro1,1. If this will not install on your computer, open the distribution file and add the information from System Profiler that your computer reports itself as. www.evga.com/support/drivers/My extended support driver

So we can just run this installer on our hacks? Anything else to be done? I've been fishing around for a descent tutorial and none exist yet lol. I'm running an retail vanilla system with an i7 MacPro4,1 identifier smbios.plist.

Hi Jaev,
You still need strings or an injector on a hack, but other than that, just install the drivers. Let me know how it goes.
PS, Any chance you can send me your sm bios to see how it differs from mine?

Got ya, guess its best to use the latest injector then the drivers from the evga site make sure your logged in to insanelymac and go here www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=50087thats the plist i'm using, systems working beautifully. And is there a new process to generate the string for the 285 or in.plist i should be looking for?

Use the same way to get your GFX strings. I think I need the rest of the particular SMBios that you have as the plist only works with that one.

Oh ok, so we can manually generate strings with any 1024mb in.plist template then use the installer? And yea, i couldnt get my system to recognize it correctly without restoring the vanilla applesmbios from 10.5.7. I dumped the original in my /Extras/Extensions folder; smbios.plist in the /Extras root. I can attatch it when i get home or you can extract it from the combo updater.
