Normally you need to go into your bios and set your HD's to AHCI. However, some distros are able to boot OSX 86 if the drives are set as Raid in the bios, but not actually set up as raided disks. I have this board and it works well with OSX 86 but I have not used iAtkos 5.
Chameleon 2 is a good bootloader for going between OSX 86 & winblows. But there will be either Chameleon 1 or 2 or EFI on your disk so go with that to start with.
I would personally go for the 8800GTS 512 MB.

I concur go with the 8800. Just took out a 9600gt and replaced it with an 8800 and it performs much better than the 9600 did.

hey aquamac I am ready whenever your ready I would really appreciate for drivers like audio or other whatever you think I would need. also would you recommend Chameleon 2 for dual booting or should I go through the F11 while booting? I am still confused if I should keep my hdds as raid or change to AHCI, but if I do than most likely I will loose my raid configuration which Vista is running.

ok I finally was able to install bad boy on my x48 board runs very nice but could be better. As advised I went with 8800 GTS with NVdarwin 1.2.5 driver (NVinect had mouse issues) I used iDeneb DVD and now updated to 5.7. everything seems to work fine except I notice that I have a little bit of lag when running like 10-15 multiple apps at once. I have quad Q9450 oced to 3.4Ghz with 8GB ram and 1700 FSB , I think perhaps I don't have some drivers right or something, or is it something normal for OSx86?
Also I need some help getting about this mac fixed. It shows my CPU as unknown? but 5.6 update had it right, after upgrading to 5.7 CPU shows unknown.
Also another issue that I have is my DVD player. It crashes/ closes when I mount DVD iso movie. can anyone help me with that please

Also I need some help getting about this mac fixed. It shows my CPU as unknown? You can make a search on here or go through aqua-mac in the Hackintosh section. I'll give you more specific link later, have to look for them first. Edit : 1) In this thread you will find the infos you're looking for. 2) on insanelymac, I remember they made tool to modify the "About this Mac" and the "System Profiler". I have to look for the link.

Hi bb and ndu, There is a link on changing System Profiler here. To edit About this mac window, you need to navigate to System/Library/CoreServices/ then right click "loginwindow" and select "Show Package Contents". Then navigate to Resources/English.lproj (if your computer is set up to use English) Then drag a copy of AboutThisMac.strings to your desktop. Open it up with Text Edit and navigate to the part that looks like the following: //"ABOUT_BOX_SINGLE_PROCESSOR_FIELD_FORMAT" = "Processor: %@"; "ABOUT_BOX_SINGLE_PROCESSOR_FIELD_FORMAT" = "%@"; "ABOUT_BOX_SINGLE_PROCESSOR_L3CACHE_FORMAT" = "%@ L3 cache"; You need to change it to something like this: //"ABOUT_BOX_SINGLE_PROCESSOR_FIELD_FORMAT" = "Processor: %@"; "ABOUT_BOX_SINGLE_PROCESSOR_FIELD_FORMAT" = "4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon"; "ABOUT_BOX_SINGLE_PROCESSOR_L3CACHE_FORMAT" = "%@ L3 cache"; Only change the one field as shown, that should sort that problem. Save a copy of the std strings (just in case you mess up) somewhere safe. Then overwrite the the AboutThisMac.strings in the file with your modded one. Repair Permissions, log out, then log back in. Enjoy your new AboutThisMac info
