Just curious if anyone has tried building a hackintosh with the new Core i7 Processors.

Hi Gizmatix, I have heard that they can be used, think I may have read something on Netkas's site that certainly they worked with vanilla Snow Leopard, but I an sure that they also work with Leo too. Thought about experimenting and getting an X58 board for my birthday, but I think I am coming down on the side of a new pair of headphones. This got me very excited!! 6 x 16xPCIe slots!!!!! Trouble is, there is a new processor and ram etc to get. However, if you are in the market for a new system, it's the way to go I would think.

I think it is my next project. When that lottery comes in, I would fancy Snow Leo + 2x GeForce GTX 285's or whatever is out then.

That's quiet a bit of processing power. What do you plan on processing with that setup?

The great thing about this board is the fact it can run dual/triple nvidia SLi and ATI crossfire all on one board. I think also with the advances of snow leo, these types of boards will become more interesting too. That remains to be seen though. I would use this for a dual boot machine running osx and windows. OSX for maya and other design programs which I use now and windows for gaming (my son mostly - but I do occasionally like a blast - I did complete Half Life 2 soon after it came out). It does take a pretty involving game to hold my attention though!
