Well, people quite often talk about turbocharging their PC's, but this guy obviously took it literally! Very nice paint job, is that a bench grinder I see that is performing the rotational duties?
Probably not a mod for those looking for something on the quiet side, but still nonetheless, a real head turner and top marks for creativity & individuality.
Da*m it, I have just been reprimanded by my wife for eyeing up the dyson vacuum cleaner in the kind of way that has nothing to do with cleaning carpets!
Always great to see unusual ideas, keep them coming!

Yep! Looks like about a 3/4 HP motor! You know what that thing really needs? An INTERCOOLER!!! That would really get the temps down. ;D

Now that would be something! Intercooling: the perfect mixture of water & air!

I saw this and it got me thinking... Although a turbocharge unit has been employed, the compressor element is been driven by a motor and not the exhaust gas, so it's more like a supercharger. Turbos, common as muck. Superchargers on the other hand, now your talking. I'm thinking belt driven centrifugal-type supercharger on top of the Mac case with a large chrome air duct above the supercharger. I would hide the motor in the case and have a toothed belt exiting top of the case. The belt would drive the supercharger via an anodized pulley. Just like Mad Max!

Rit, Hell yes! You know what you could do? Put a A/C clutch on the motor and wire it to a relay that was termp controlled. Add a bug catcher so that the butterflies would open when it started and BAM!!! High horsepowered Mac awesomeness. BTW, I have a 6-71 case at the house (I do some hot rodding too). You want me to send it to you? ;D
Cheers, Chris
