Booim, this is my concern, about Tammat's bios, everything looks perfect, there's nothing who could be wrong as long as softstrapping the original bios with the 3700 one worked. Also the memories are set at lower timings (no clocks).Booting with the 3700 rom . The SO recognized the card and installed its own driver then asked for restart. After that, windows freezes. This sounds a software problem. An SO reinstall would be the best thing for sure.

I'm pretty sure its a software problem. Like I mentioned before, the OS was pretty meshed up by driver installation & uninstallation, not to mention registry issues which beyond repair by any utilities out there.
The artifacts or freezes was caused by the OS which was trying to access gpu hardware acceleration. The safemode doesn't use this feature, therefore you can still run the OS.
By disabling the AERO feature, I believe you can still login to windows normally (I tried this before). But once you try to access any kind of hardware acceleration feature, the OS will freeze instantly.
I noticed this issues was quite strange to me since the other OS/Hacintosh (I have a dual boot configuration between Hacintosh & Win 7 x64), could run normally after I applied this softmodded rom. Which in my case, instantly eliminated any type of gpu error or bad rom issues and finally bring me to a conclusion this was a software (OS) gone bad and the only thing left to do was fresh windows installation. And it worked...
Anyway, until someone release the updated script to patch native Win 7 x64 driver, the best and safest OS for this softmod would be Vista x64.

hello everybody! its so small info about quadro fx on macs/hacks, so maybe can someone tell me about the performance of quadro fx 3700 in composing apps (ae, motion) and 3d apps (modo, cinema4d, maya) compared to ati 4870? just want to know is old 3700 have a sense on mac without special drivers. also is it need to install drivers from quadro fx 4800 for mac from nvidia site, or 3700 works with generic nvidia drivers?

No need to install specific drivers for the FX 3700 on hacks. But you will still need to use gfx strings or graphics enabler in Chameleon. I have used Maya with this card in OSX before and the performance was good.

aha, great, gfx strings is my faforite method for videocards. if i build new workstation in in near time i make a review to fulfill an emptiness about performance of quadro fx on hackintoshes!

Hey guys, wonder if I could share my quadro-mod woes with you. I've got a 1024mb 8800 GT manufactured by Palit, came OEM with my computer, but I believe its basically a Palit 8800 Super+1GB. I've been trying to flash the bios to quadro for some time, if I modify the BIOS myself with the device ID changed from 0611 to 061A, and all the other changes detailed in Aquamacs original instructions, and flash that, I get nvflash telling me about id mismatches etc (as per instructions) and when I boot, the card appears as "Quadro FX3700" before the post screen, but in windows, is still recognised as an 8800GT (GPU-z still sees it as the 0611 card, despite the new BIOS). Now, when I try Aquamacs original 1024mb ROM, the computer recognises the card as a Quadro, indeed windows recognises it, and downloads the right drivers, however, there are noticeable artefacts, even from before the BIOS post screen. I've attached some screenshots explaining this. When I install the latest Quadro drivers and reboot, windows fails to start, but thats of little importance at the moment. I can post my original BIOSes if anyone would be kind enough to take a look, I'm really stumped with this now, I'd love to have a quadro card, as I use SolidWorks 2009/10 and having a Quadro would really help with some of the larger models and assemblies. Thanks in advance for any thoughts. Pics: - card recognised, speeds not detected? Edit: I better add a little bit about my system; Q9300 2.5ghz running at 3.31ghz, 8192mb DDR2, 1024 MB 8800GT (standard clocks of 600/1500/900 mhz) all on an Asus P5K SE/EPU motherboard. Windows 7 x64

I think some of your memory registers are different from my card to yours. You need to post up your original cards rom and the one you used for flashing.

Hi Aquamac, thanks for the reply. I've attached my .rom file from the 8800 (read straight from the card with nvflash). The quadro mod that I try is this rom with the device ID changed etc, no other changes to clock speeds/temps, and still reads as a 8800GT. I'd be very grateful if you could cast an eye over it Attachments:

Hi Jim, Give this a go. I cannot guarantee it will work as I don't have a card to test on. Please let me know how it goes. Attachments:

Has anyone gotten the hardware overlay to work with this mod??? I did the flash, I have a Zotac 1gb 8800gt and I am using a program that needs an overlay window to be drawn, but it always gives me an error telling me overlay is not enabled on the card? Everything else works well on the card and is recognized at a FX3700 in Win7, OSX, and Linux.... but the hardware overlay isn't working Can someone help me out please??? Thanks.....

Hi Jim, Give this a go. I cannot guarantee it will work as I don't have a card to test on. Please let me know how it goes. Aquamac, you Sir are a star. I've been away from the computer this weekend, but tried your rom as soon as I got back, and it worked! No nasty lines in bios/post/windows Unfourtunately, it works until I install a Quadro driver and reboot (as part of the installation process), when I re-enter windows, there is just a multicoloured screen of static. Odd, as the windows loading screen comes up, the bios/post screens obviously work, it seems to be the drivers not working in windows. I've tried all the drivers I can get my hands on from NVidia's website. Sorry to be a pain, but any ideas here? Many thanks again! Jimbo

Jim, have you tried in OS X86? Did you definitely clear out all the old drivers?

Do you mean Mac OS? I'm on a PC, just running Win7 64 bit. I haven't tried in 32 bit, don't currently have a 32bit OS installed.
Removed drivers with drivercleanerpro but alas still the same results. Safe mode works, and shows a driver installed, currently on 182 release drivers, which simply give a "no signal" on my monitor, after the windows loading bar.

For me I had to install the latest quadro drivers for it to work with me.... I had a 8800gt Zotac 1gb
I think 182 is an older driver set..... I would sweep out the old drivers and use the newest ones from Nvidia's site.....
Also here is a question..... when you take off the drivers and restart does Windows pick up as a 3700 and installs its own generic drivers initally??
Also can some help me with the hardware overlay problem... I am using an Autodesk program which needs overlay windows to be drawn, and I get the error that they cannot be drawn and apparently overlay has been set to 0..... Has anyone encountered this also or aqua have you seen this??I could really use some help with this....
Thanks....

Sorry, I should have mentioned I've tried all the drivers from Nvidias website, including the latest 259(?) release ones, all give the screen corruption apart from the 182 release which just gives a no signal from my monitor.
I *think* hardware overlay may be to do with drivers, that they need modifying with a script to allow the Quadro performance features to work on a modded quadro card (I read about a similar patch elsewhere but can't remember where, sorry!)
