I assume that the checksum of the bios are the last two digits of the rom opened in a hex editor.Meantime i tried to modify my original rom looking at the diferences between your 512 and q3700 roms, also at Booim's original and q3700, to see if playing with changes that you made, I can manage to make my bios work.I did something, I still get artefacts in post but i don't lose the DVI signal after booting.Still strange colors (yellowish) when background is white and when using CUDA for encoding display kinda pulse and programs crash after a few minutes (Elemental plugin , Mediacoder - for example). If I can manage to encode via CUDA something really short (10 sec), the result is full of black squares.I think these are memory errors?

Aqua, thanks a lot for the bios but the problem is not over.Sure I give you headaches! I've flashed the bios from you, I installed the quadro driver and having the same problems with artefacts in the post and after booting os, I opened nibitor and in the "bootup clocks" I pressed "autoselect" giving me back "your timingset is 1" which was 400/800/500.Strage enough, knowing that it had to be 400/800/400, I changed appropriately, saved, reflased and SURPRISE, no artefacts, no lines, no color bleeding. SO, the modded quadro rom uses memory timings nr. 1 and my original bios uses memory timings 2.Here is is a problem, because with timingset 1, the GPU's memory becomes really unstable even at stock clocks.Using CUDA, it gave me nasty visual artefacts in the video resulted and running "CUDA MemTest", it gave me a lot of errors and crashing finally.Hoping that i will resolve the problems I did the following things: 1.Relaxed memory timings of timing set 1 accordingly to timingset 2 - still errors 2.downclocked memory from 920 (stock) to 750 for testing and it was free of errors but way to slow My question is, can this modded bios be forced to read timingset 2 instead of 1? Here is the problem. Funny enough, after this test i took your original fx 512 rom, modified timingset in bootup clocks to 400/800/500 to 400/800/400, like mine, and it worked just like that you modded (blitzfix.rom).I bet that everybody's card, reads timingset 2. Thank you and sorry for this long post, I wanted to be clear what's going on. Bye !

hi aquamac and thanks for all your work. I've been trying to flash my asus 8800gt 256 mb to quadro 3700 but i couldn't make it work... bellow is a description of what i tried but my first question is: Is possible to make your mod to a 256 mb 8800gt or this mod is only for 512 and 1024 mb??? Copied from insanelymac forum: //////// today i've been playing for a while... when i modify aquamac's 3700rom to match my rom, i have to change: - clock rates (675/1600/975 to 600/1500/900) - voltage extra 1,05 (as my rom) - timing sets - and performance table all flashes end with weird characters/colors and a semi-blind reflash to backup.rom so no joy now i'm trying to change my rom to "looks like" aquamac's 3700rom. first i edit my rom with nibitor. after this i'm changing some bytes in hexedit (trying to compare aquamac original 8800 against modded 3700rom) but still no joy... somechanges ends with weird screen and others just with a 611 device id not 61A (at least as reported by lspci and about this mac) also i noticed that everytime i reflash the information about overriding the adapter pci devID is always 611 altough the firmware devID is 61A ///////// i attached my original rom just in case you have time to have a look... Thanks in advance dani Attachments:

Hi all, i'm new to this forum so please be gentle :P I posted this in another of aquamac's forums as well so if you don't mind i'll just paste it here: I'm not new to bios flashing and stuff but since you're much more experimented in this thing i wanted to ask you if you can check out a Gainward BLISS 8800GT 1024MB bios for a Quadro mod. It's the original one, straight from my video card and I want to know if it's compatible with the one from your Zotac (besides the vendor and speeds... i have 600/1500/900). I really need a boost in performance in 3ds max and i'd very much appreciate it if you can help. Sorry for the thread revival btw, I didn't want to revive a thread few months old just for the sake of it. If you have time please take a look. And yes, i have searched the forum for a Gainward version and haven't found any and i hope i don't get banned for this and i REALLY don't have enough money to go poking around. Us architecture students aren't well known for wealth Thanks again. EDIT: In Nibitor it gives me an error in which it says it can't start the driver(1275)... I have 195 driver from nvidia website and win7 x64. EDIT: Tried flashing it and i get a slight problem. Modified your Zotac rom and i have the same problem as Booim did, i get artifacts, the clock wasn't the issue, i get them even with lower speeds. Can you please take a look at this rom and see if you can fix it please? Attachments:

Hy, I looked at your bios and relaxed a little the memory timings, also the bootup clocks. I had a similar problem, when the card was Geforce, it used another timingset than when I flashed to Quadro. The timingset used when Quadro, was too tight, resulting in artefacts and bleeding colors all over the screen. Do you have artefacts only on windows, or also in POST and when windows loads? Hope will work Edit:If you try this one, let me know how it works Attachments:

blitzkrieg thank you for reply. I've just tried it and still no luck. Loading windows screen freezes and then turns black, without artefacts. The first time I've used aquamac's rom like it was, without any changes, then I changed clocks and vendor but nothing works Sorry for my bad English.

Hy, I modified your bios but i'm not sure if it still works flawlessly.Try this one please, and tell me if it works without any eroor: no boot and os artefacts or working in cad, maya, after effects, gaming causing crashes or freezes. If you notice strange things, let me know to tweak it a little bit further. Good luck! Attachments:

Artefacts showed up in both windows and bios boot, letters were blurry, seen some color bleeding too... those memory timings won't impact my gaming much, right? (1~3fps maybe...) I still like an occasional Modern Warfare now and then Thanks for your time, I owe you one. I'd appreciate if aquamac would take some time and look over my bios though, would be very reassuring and appreciated. Thanks.

Teanotes, thanks for your kind words.I hope that the rom will work, you have the same problem like I had.Changing memory timings worked for me, now I'm happy with my card .I don't think that changing timings a little bit will have a big impact on your gaming, but I think if it does this deserves the trade. When you get home, please try the new bios and tell me if it works. All the best !
