Hello there! First of all, aquamac, you made great mods with MDD and all other machines.
I recently made a couple of conversions as well, started with G3 B&W for a many terabyte fileserver, then i eventually found a dead PM G5 1.6 which i used to make my own hackintosh. And now i have bought back (that's another story) my precious MDD 1.25 UP 2003. I though i can convert it to a some kind of hackintosh too, but it seems to be nearly impossible. So i gave up and deciced to trade it for QuickSilver, but no one seem to have one around in my city. So i'm getting ready to clean it up and make it another big storage (i have 2x500Gb HDD in AcomData boxes, so move them into MDD).
I read this forums, googled, read xlr8 and other boards... But i still have no REAL idea what i need to get to make MDD silent or at least very low noise. This is gorgeous machine you know. The main thing i figured out is the famous PSU 60mm fans. There are some fans on market that suggested to make a good replacement for stock ones. But the problem is i have nothing like that around. Okay, i'm in St. Petersburg, Russia. Most of the ebay sellers dont ship here or do at insane rates (see, like $30 for a $22 fan or like that). So before i make any purchase i need a really good think.
Does anyone know, what airflow does need MDD PSU? I started to think about a 120mm fan with a duct into the PSU. Any suggestions here?
Also i'm looking into a good heatsink for the single 1.25GHz CPU board. Aquamac's zalman mod is cool, but that eats lot of space and requires to detach backside hdd bay...
I'm okay with main 120mm fan, i have a spare for it, low RPM, low noise (they are wide available here), i even tried G5 92mm CPU fan and it runs fine with almost no noise having nice airflow.
The main thing about my machine - i dont want hurt it too much, want to keep all the hard drive bays (to fill).
Anyone here may sell me good 60mm fans and CPU heatsink at a reasonable rate, please? Or trade for some Powerbook G3/G5 parts or anything. And yes I can paypal.
And here are some pics of my mods

Thanks in advance!
